Former Maryland Lt. Governor Michael Steele has landed a prominent MSNBC weekend host slot amid a network shake-up.
Known for his moderate opinions, Steele has become a staple on the left-leaning cable news channel since 2011 after failing to secure another term leading the Republican National Committee.
Despite his party taking control of the House of Representatives and gaining seats in the Senate during the 2010 mid-term elections, Steele was criticized by the Republican establishment for leaving the party $20 million in debt, according to Reuters.
As a self-described “Lincoln Republican,” Maryland’s first statewide elected African American has used his airtime on MSNBC to bash former President Donald Trump and decry the Republican Party's leadership. Steele’s MSNBC promotion comes as the network is facing backlash for canceling Mehdi Hasan’s Sunday evening show, according to Politico.

I never liked that GOPe lowlife the first day I saw him on TV; he looked and sounded like a rat. And that’s what he’s turned-out to be.
He ran for Maryland Senate , I believe, shortly after stint as Lt. Governor. I remember his report of standing in line to vote in his predominantly black Prince George’s county precinct, and the cold hostility he faced from his neighbors voting for a white Democrat. At that point any honest intentions he had of being a Herman Cain or Colonel Allen West or Larry Elder no doubt melted away.
Failed in his principle role when GOOe guy:
Raise money and win elections.

Gets thrown down the shiitehole to an MSnBC Talking Head.
Will never be seen as anything other than the Token Stooge he aspires to be.
