Trump would have been well-served to praise DeSantis as having done a good job of showing how conservative Republican leaders, ideas, and policies have benefitted Florida while Newsome and progressive Democrats have wrecked California. Why take that approach? Even a pitcher with a blazing fast ball like Trump benefits from throwing a change up every now and then.
