Wait, you mean the first woman on the court wasn’t Ruth Vader Ginsberg?!? /sarc
She died in Phoenix, Arizona, on Friday “of complications related to advanced dementia, probably Alzheimer’s, and a respiratory illness,” the Supreme Court said in a statement.
Is somebody going to tell Joe this doesn’t mean he gets to appoint her replacement?
She died again?
I thought she was already dead. I guess I was wrong
Let’s compare how she is treated in comparison to the way Ruth Buzzi Ginsberg was treated.

To quote John Riggins, RIP Sandy baby.
RIP...
I’m still mourning Shane MacGowan. RIP to the token, I guess.
Wow. She made it to 93. May she RIP.
Video Ronald Reagan nominates Sandra Day O’Connor, 7/8/1981

well that’s #2...is Jimma next?
That might have something to do with O'Connor being ignored by the press because she was appointed by Reagan and RBG being a leftist darling.
I thought she died years ago!..................RIP, madam..............
Carter’s wife, Kissinger, and now O’Conner. I guess they do come in 3s.
My dad was nominated by Sen. William Armstrong to President Reagan for what was to be Sandra’s position. Dad declined the meeting with Reagan because he didn’t want to move us to DC. I wish he had taken the meeting but I suspect he knew Reagan could talk him into it. Wish dad were still here so I could dig deeper on that. He certainty would have passed confirmation, if Reagan gave him the green light.
Her life story is extremely interesting. From life on the Lazy B to the most powerful woman in the United States. Her decisions, otoh, often far too muddled to make good, lasting kaw in ANY direction.
Dropping like flies.
Isn’t she the one who talked about “affirmative action is wrong, but let’s let it continue another 25 years ago to make up for the past”. ?
I remember seeing where she was being interviewed and she said while she had been interviewed, she was not made aware she was a finalist for the Court seat and was caught completely off guard. She was in her chambers at the Arizona Court of Appeals and her phone rang, she picked it up, and it was President Reagan saying “Hello? Sandra? I’ve decided I’m going to appoint you to the United States Supreme Court if that’s okay with you?” LOL
When Roe v. Wade was challenged during her tenure, she had the chance to reverse it; but she didn’t. Have fun explaining it to “St. Peter”, Ms Justice O’Connor.
