REVEALED: Donald Trump commuted sentence of drug dealer Jonathan Braun who's now gone back to being a LOAN SHARK: Crook is accused of using close tie to Jared Kushner to secure prison release

A drug dealer who had his prison sentence commuted by Donald Trump has returned to loan sharking as his family's ties to Jared Kushner might have helped get him free, according to a report.

Staten Islander Jonathan Braun, 40, had served two-and-a-half years of his decade-long sentence for running an illegal marijuana cartel when the former president set him free along with 142 others.

Braun is accused of returning to offering high-interest loans despite nationwide bans on the practice, according to the New York Times...

Braun was in the inaugural class of the Kushner Yeshiva High School in Livingston, New Jersey, which was funded by the family of Ivanka Trump's husband, Jared Kushner, according to the New York Times.

A source told the Times that in 2020, the accused loan shark's father - Jacob Braun - approached Kushner's father - Charles Kushner - about the possibility of securing a pardon from the then-president.

Others who dealt with Braun told investigators his family helped secure his prison release through their connections with Trump's senior advisor at the time, Jared Kushner, and his family, per the Times...

It was revealed that just months after Trump freed him, Braun allegedly began preying on borrowers again by offering loans, according to New York's Attorney General and the Times.

A New York judge barred Braun from working in the industry the same month, and weeks later, he was hit with a nationwide ban following a complaint from the Federal Trade Commission.

'Mr. Braun and his company targeted small business consumers with an egregious array of tactics, from predatory contract terms to violent threats, and the court’s opinion is a significant win on their behalf,' Samuel Levine, Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection said in an October 2023 release.

"2. Here’s an article from January 17, 2021, about 125 protestors being arrested: “More than 125 people have been arrested so far on charges related to the violent insurrection ***.” https://apnews.com/article/donald-trump-capitol-siege-alaska-media-riots-709fca95f4e3dce9e40c440d96dcd006

You can't even make a link, why do you want me or anyone else to take you seriously? Do you think posting the same busted link over and over makes you look smart? Do you think your ignorance about the discussion that only 14 people were arrested on J6 makes you looks smart?

This isn't the goddamn 6am Arby's bored hungover retiree coffee klatsch. This is a website dedicated to a core mission statement of advancing Constitutionalism, and your inability to post a link or even construct a bad opinion ain't it, champ. Why are you here, other than for my amusement? This is the actual J6 arrest list straight from the USCP website:

“There are no checks and balances like with other powers. Perhaps a pardon should be treated like a presidential veto. It can be overridden by a 2/3 vote in both Houses of Congress.”
***************************
That’s an excellent idea. We can’t be allowing this bs with connected people getting off because they know or bribe someone. That’s a misuse of what it was intended for.

“The same way Ford pardoned Nixon before Nixon was charged with anything.”

The Jan 6 people had not even been identified, for one, so there was no one to pardon. Next, Trump would have been affirmng he knew they had done something wrong instead of participating in a legal protest and would have given fodder for the democrats to claim he was in on it from the start by that admission and he was guilty of an insurrection attempt, etc.

Why are you DeSantis-bots so stupid?

It’s Trump.
If it looks bad, it’s not his fault, if it can be proven it is his fault then it’s no big deal. If it is a big deal-everybody does it and they deserve it. See? EZ PZ.

Needs to be another way.
Your suggestion would simply wind up as another source of kickbacks for the Elected Elites.

I think that that was a suggestion by AA and not a statement of how the power works.
History is full of this BS pardon power being abused.
Remember the kerfuffle Marc Rich caused?
I've been reading a bunch of stuff lately that homobama has the all-time lead in seedy pardons.
Such is life.

Not at all. A blanket pardon like Ford did those who fled to Canada during Viet Nam.

Ford’s pardon of draft dodgers was pre-emptive.

Draft dodging was law. What laws did the J6ers break? It took years for the law breaking government to come up with charges. How do you give a pardons to unknown victims of a law breaking government ?

The same way Carter issued blanket pardons for all the draft dodgers, many of whom had not been individually charged with anything.

You would have issued a blanket pardon for anybody who broke the law on January 6th?

You support people breaking windows and entering the Capitol, pushing over barricades and pushing police?

You too would have issued a blanket pardon for anybody who broke the law on January 6th? You support people breaking windows and entering the Capitol, pushing over barricades and pushing police?

I'll look for your answer.

You'll just get blank stares. About 12-15 people were arrested prior to January 20. President Trump had PLENTY of time to do a blanket pardon. Instead, crickets.

And another one.

Re: 116 - I thought it was obvious that no blanket pardon for people like Dominic Pezzola who I mentioned up-thread.

For people just walking in the Capital, that were *let in* by LEOs and had some sort of verbal okay by LEOs, yet those people could be pardoned.
