My stand on these late charges stays the same. We have statues of limitations for a reason. The framework of our justice system is that the right of the accuse to a fair (and speedy) trial. Bringing an accusation after decades (especially if it is a he said/she said) situation is fundamentally wrong (regardless if I like or dislike the accused).

Not,defending the guys politics, but cops often get falsely accused all the time- they deal with the worst scum on earth on a daily basis, and arrest many drugged out zombies who lie for a living. The accusers are hardly the bastions of truth that agendists make them out to be, and the sleazy lawyers that represent the accusers are even more despicable really.
