The Post Millennial reported this week that a major Democrat-leaning organization may face criminal charges.

According to the website, Republican Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey revealed this weekend that his office is conducting an investigation into Media Matters over possible criminal and civil violations.

Media Matters accused of manipulating platform with multiple accounts That revelation was made on Sunday via a post to the social media platform previously known as Twitter, and it came in response to an earlier post by platform owner Elon Musk.

At issue are allegations that Media Matters, which was founded by Clinton ally David Brock, created multiple accounts in order to manipulate the platform.

Specifically, the group is said to have attempted to produce a false impression that ads from major corporations are regularly appearing alongside extremist content.

Musk promises "thermonuclear lawsuit" against group and its collaborators This led Musk to declare in a post on Sunday that he will unleash "a thermonuclear lawsuit against Media Matters and ALL those who colluded in this fraudulent attack on our company."

Musk later mused on the "civil and criminal" implications of such a scheme, which prompted Bailey to state that his "team is looking into this matter."

Bailey is suing the Biden administration over online censorship That remark also came after conservative activist and former Trump White House advisor Stephen Miller pointed out that there are in excess of two dozen conservative state attorneys general.

The Post Millennial noted that Bailey is no stranger to cases involving big tech companies and free speech matters, as he is one of multiple plaintiffs who are suing the Biden administration over online censorship.

What's more, Bailey also joined with 18 other state attorneys general in signing an amicus brief opposing the gag order in former President Donald Trump's Washington D.C. criminal case.

Positive actions at state level are the best we can hope for given a worthless, disinterested gop congress.

States at this point will have to be the Alamos of sanity in face of federal/corporate leviathan.

This. It would be nice to see the GOP-controlled House looking into this.

Be a real shame if Brock were put in jail, along with his money-man, Soros.

I hope Elon goes after them on antitrust charges (treble damages plus punitive) or civil RICO basis

Musk’s suit against Media Matters is very interesting. And in my opinion possibly devastating to MM. I urge people to pay at least modest attention. If he can prove his claims, and I would suggest that he can, It could very well destroy MM.

“’civil and criminal’ implications of such a scheme”

Yes, criminal. Put them in prison where they belong.
