The voucher-like program provides families with the same amount the state pays per pupil to public school districts — about $4,500 — to pay for private school tuition or home school expenses.

It's a start, but most public schools "cost" closer to 20k per student and it is that amount that the student should get. Until we can achieve total reform, lower property taxes and the cost of schools, which should be much less.
