Nevada might be a bit tougher than California. 2nd degree...which I think will be the level given to the 8...means 25 years or more (with parole starting to be possible at the 10-year point).
I suspect all eight will be convicted as adults, and all eight will be out of prison by 12-year point.

While I 100% would oppose this, I can see how we got to this point. If the police aren't going to enforce the law and if the courts don't sentence everybody evenly then it's not surprising people will reach your conclusion.
We need more law and order that is equally enforced across the board. The anti cop people both on the right (including a few here on the FR) are idiots.

Today, I was in line at a department store, two women behind me were talking and one was extremely distraught, she was getting ready to leave for New Jersey to attend her nieces funeral, describing to her friend the death of her beautiful niece in Nashville on November 9th. Jillian was an 18 year old music student at Belmont University in a Nashville. She was doing her usual run and was randomly shot and died. The lady said, the police were referring to it as a stray bullet. But the lady said the family is calling it murder. This thug was arrested last year for an almost identical crime, he shot into a car with two young toddlers in the car. Thank God no one was was injured. The lady said, a panel decided the shooter was not competent to stand trial but not sick enough to be institutionalized so he was released. When I got home I looked this murder up and noticed it was simply mentioned he had been “arrested” last year, but FAILED to mention it was for an almost identical type shooting as Jillian’s, difference being Jillian is dead and wouldn’t be if this man had been locked up.
