Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley called for an end to anonymity on social media during a television appearance on Nov. 14.
“Every person on social media should be verified by their name,” the 2024 presidential hopeful said while fielding questions from voters on Fox News’s “The Faulkner Focus,” hosted by Harris Faulkner.
“First of all, it’s a national security threat. When you do that, all of a sudden, people have to stand by what they say. And it gets rid of the Russian bots, the Iranian bots, and the Chinese bots. And then you’re going to get some civility, when people know their name is next to what they say, and they know their pastor and their family members [are] going to see it, it’s going to help our kids, and it’s going to help our country.” Ms. Haley said.
Ms. Haley made the comment in a response to a question from a woman identified as “Stephanie R, Democratic Voter Switching to GOP.”

This is a position typically held by someone who can’t effectively defend their political positions before the court of public opinion.

I’m sure it would. Then social media would be for only those who can’t be “canceled” for having an opinion that goes against the approved narrative. Everyone else would be too wary of saying anything. Can you imagine social media with only Rachel Maddow, Cher, and Joe Scarborough types being able to post anything?
There is no such thing as true anonymity on any social media site.
Your IP address CAN be tracked to your house, even through a VPN.

So thus far today, Haley has floated the idea of no more anonymous social media postings and letting corporations decide on who gets to immigrate into the country. What could possibly go wrong? Surely, such would be nothing but beneficial to the middle-class taxpayer. Right?
Honest question: Is Facebook anonymous? Sometimes I see a link here and I can get through and sometimes not. I am not a member. FR and occasional specific Reddit topics are all I can handle, and I’d quit both if I had to use my real name.
I used my real name on a few social sites. Then I thought, maybe this isn’t a good idea.
You want us to give companies that have a habit of being hacked our personal information?
The GOP Deep State’s choice is the WEF graduate Haley or whatever her name is. And this is the security problem she is thinking about it.
