Former President Donald Trump‘s older sister, Maryanne Trump Barry has died at the age of 86, according to The New York Times (NYT).
Barry was reportedly found dead in her home located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan on Monday morning, two people close to the situation informed the NYT.
No cause of death has been revealed.
Barry, a former federal judge in New Jersey, had been married to John Barry, a veteran trial and appellate lawyer. She retired from her position in 2019 amid several inquiries into the Trump family’s handling of alleged tax fraud and financial transactions.
The former president and his sister had been close. However, after their niece Mary L. Trump released a memoir about the family, including audio recordings of her aunt speaking critically of her brother, tensions rose between the two.
Ivana Trump, the former president’s first wife, and the mother to Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric passed away in 2022. Prior to this, Robert S. Trump, the younger brother of the former president passed away in 2020.
A very liberal judge whom he once said would make an outstanding Supreme Court justice, if she were younger.
In 2016, Hon Maryanne Trump Barry gave $4 million to Fairfield U, Conn, a Catholic institution, in honor of the university’s president, Fr. Arx. The donation was given to endow the university’s “Center for Ignatian Spirituality.”
“Ignatian Spirituality,” similar in most aspects to, but distinct from Jesuit spirituality, is a Catholic spirituality founded on the experiences of the 16th-century Spanish Saint Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuit order.
The main idea of this form of spirituality comes from Ignatius’s Spiritual Exercises, the aim of which is to help one “conquer oneself and to regulate one’s life in such a way that no decision is made under the influence of any inordinate attachment.”
The Exercises are intended to give the person undertaking them a greater degree of freedom from his or her own likes and dislikes, so that their choices are based solely on what they discern God’s will is for them.
Even in the composition of the exercises by Ignatius early in his career, one might find the apostolic thrust of his spirituality in his contemplation on “The Call of the Earthly King” and in his final contemplation with its focus on finding God in all things.
Memory Eternal!!

God bless this man for what he’s been through.
When Ivana died, he posted something immediately. He’s posted a a few things on Truth today, but not on this. I wonder if they were fighting?
