Donald Trump appeared on the Clay & Buck show, and the host (I don’t know whether Clay or Buck) asked Trump if he’d consider Tucker as a running mate. After waffling along for a while about the number of viewers he got when he talked to Tucker (very high), compared to viewership for the Republican debates (very low), Trump finally said he would consider Tucker because the latter has “great common sense.” That’s true but Tucker has something even more important: He’s a remarkably gifted communicator in ways that Trump is not.
In his own way, Trump is a very gifted communicator, which is why he was one of the most popular entertainers in America. He has the ability to drive points home through vivid language. “Build a wall.” “Sleepy Joe.” “Low energy Jeb.” None of them are clever phrases because they have wit, rhymes, or alliteration.
In other words, Trump will never be Winston Churchill. After all, when Harry Truman said of Clement Attlee, who replaced Churchill at 10 Downing Street, “He seems a modest sort of fellow,” Churchill’s instant response was “He’s got a lot to be modest about.” He also memorably called Ramsay MacDonald “a sheep in sheep’s clothing.” One delights in Churchill’s quips. That’s not Trump.
But in his own way, Trump has a remarkable ability to carry people along with his ideas. What Trump cannot do is defend those ideas with any depth or even coherence. He waffles along, as he did in the video above where, instead of just answering the question, he first boasts about his ratings and attacks his opponents’ ratings. It’s a maddeningly indirect style of speech.
Many feel (I among them) that this rambling style gets in the way of conveying important ideas to Americans during incredibly fraught times.

Eight years later and people still don't get Trump and his ulterior motives and squirrels.
No.
No, he should be Karine’s replacement.
He’d have to shut down his Twitter channel and whatever else he is doing.
I can’t see him doing that.
He’s very useful where he is.
To his credit, Tucker isn’t part of the Swamp. Faux News fired him because he wasn’t toeing the globalist, Uniparty RINO line. Who would be better? On the minus side, Tucker is just another white guy to those who want to divide us by race, gender, etc. MTG on the ticket might appeal to more suburban female voters.
Whomever is chosen as vice president needs to be able to step in to the role of president. Tucker is a great communicator, but I have no idea if he has any management skills.
No. His girly, shrieking laugh is worse than Kamala’s Mutley snicker.
No. Among many reasons, Tucker is articulate, ambitious and has a big ego. He would not be content to ‘keep his light under a bushel basket” for at least 4 years, so as not to out shine or distract from what the President is doing.
And that goes double for someone like Kari Lake.
There would be many episodes of president and his vice president ‘locking horns’ and using power plays.
Uh, no!
No.
Tucker has done a lot of good but that laugh is excruciating

I’m all for a younger VP who is charismatic and a great communicator. But a suitable pick for Trump that is brown, black or yellow eludes me. Do you know of such a person?
Trump won because he spoke the truth, advocated common sense solutions, and championed the populist movement. Tucker does the same thing, so yeah.
Tucker is doing a great job with his channel, and he should keep doing it. I’d love a Trump/Vivek ticket. It would be the best
Tucker is much for influential as a journalist.
Plus, he’s indicated on several occasions that he doesn’t like DC’s political circles. I highly doubt he’d want to be VP or any job like that.
Regarding Tucker’s appeal - I saw a comment by a young woman who after watching Tucker for the first time said “wow, he is so cute” and she inferred that she didn’t realize that conservatives had good looking people.
Tucker can’t stand the DC political elite. He’d never do it.
TC would make a great press secretary.
Much better then VP. If Donald Trump is the nominee, I’d love to see Ron DeSantis as his VP.
