Republicans painted Long Island completely red Tuesday night with the party’s candidate Ed Romaine winning a landslide victory against Democrat David Calone to become Suffolk County executive.
The GOP now occupies all the countywide seats in Nassau and Suffolk Counties — both county executive seats, the district attorney and comptroller’s offices, as well as all four congressional seats.
Romaine sailed to victory with 56% of the vote, beating Calone by more than 26,000 votes.
“This is a political earthquake,” said former US Sen. Al D’Amato.
Longtime analysts of Long Island politics said they could recall only one brief period in the last 60 years when the GOP was this dominant
“Long Island for now is defiantly returning to its red roots,” said Lawrence Levy, dean of Hofstra University’s National Center for Suburban Studies

People on Long Island who can’t move are tired of paying $18,000 or more a year real estate taxes. Many can’t even get garbage pickup for what they pay. Their kids can’t afford to live there if they don’t live at home.
Jewish vote? This was the last pre- 10/ 7 Election.
The GOP alternately holds the presidency, has the House, divides the Senate, has the majority of governorships and the majority of state legislatures. We are hardly “done.”
Abortion is not a right.
By and large, it’s an immoral person’s method of birth control.

NY is the only state with a “Conservative Party”
they usually align wi the Reps unless there is a more conservative candidate...

The problem is the rats run on the demoKKKrat and Conservative ticket/line in NY- or at least they do in Westchester.
Which means one of two things 1) they always outsmart the Republicans and get their name on the Conservative line 2) they are actually Republicans but are afraid to run as Republicans down here...Both are believable.
Case in point- Mt Kisco, NY where the democrats got hammered and lost all thee seats last night to the VIP- Village Inclusive Party. At first glance you would be “ugh!” yet the mayor on the VIP ticker is a Republican and one of the woman on the ticket is a hardcore conservative- but they can’t call themselves that!!!
A while back Suffolk had no government pickup. The mob ran the carting companies and made sure the government didn’t do it. They also made sure no one started a new carting company.
The GOP won a Bronx Council seat near Yankee Stadium! Biden 8 points under water in California!!! Where Abortion is a settled issue, the GOP is doing very well. Trump has the right position, and will counterattack on the issue.
That was a long ways back. And Suffolk was much more rural.
That’s why the GOP is doing so well in NY outside the NYC area. I know it upsets people but the Dems will destroy us in most states with the abortion issue. Ohio proves this. I’m just being a realist.
He was the s.o.b. who, when he was AG, he refused to bring charges against Crystal Mangum and supported the corrupt DA who was eventually disbarred. Crystal was a prostitute who accused the lacrosse team of raping her. She went on to commit a string a felonies and then kill one of her boyfriends and set fire to her own house with kids in it.
Governor Cooper has vetoed many bills about voting rights and just about every GOP backed bill in the legislature. He's a Rat.
Ugh.
Her spirit tried to come back to Earth from the Muslim Paradise where she was flirting with dead terrorists.

Good to hear a little good news.
Republicans need to do something to stop the Democrats from using Abortion against them. Being pure Pro-Life isn’t going to help and any modifications of Pro-Choice hurt also. They should just take a Neutral stance and eliminate the entire issue from their candidates agenda.
I don’t need a lecture from you about who Magnum was or Cooper is; I’m friends with members of that lacrosse team. He WAS disbarred, in case you didn’t know. Very quickly after the debacle.
