Katie Hopkins and Tommy Robinson have had their accounts reinstated on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Hopkins, a controversial commentator and former The Apprentice contestant, had been permanently banned from the social network in 2020 for breaching its rules on "abuse and harmful contact".
And Robinson, former leader of the far-right English Defence League, had his account deactivated in 2018.
Hopkins first post on the platform since 2020 read: "Thank you @elonmusk. And thank you to all the Twitter family who have brought Tommy & I back to @X.
"Know this. You are not alone. We are many. And we are stronger together. The fight back for your freedom is on."
Robinson's return post was a clip from the video for David Hasselhoff's 1989 song Looking For Freedom - with his own face superimposed over the Baywatch star's.
In later posts he thanked X owner Elon Musk, adding: "I've been censored, attacked, slandered & imprisoned for shining a light on uncomfortable truths that our government wish to hide, the public are now aware I was telling the truth. We have lots to do."

The tides are turning.
OH HELL YEAH!!!
I was so happy to hear X reinstated Tommy’s account. His warnings regarding the Muslim invasion have been proven correct. I remember watching his livestream on Twitter a few years ago when he was originally arrested and then banned from mainstream social media. Two of my other favourite anti-invasion Brits on X are Paul Golding and Steve Laws. I was following Tommy on Telegram and Paul on Gab after they were originally banned from Twitter. Thank God for Elon Musk.
I watch Katie’s videos on YouTubes. She’s one funny girl. I love her updates on “Batshit, Bonkers, Britain.”
I too like Katie. Wikipedia describes her as “far right”. They list some of her controversial statements such as: “Dear black people. If your lives matter why do you stab and shoot each other so much?”
Followed Katie. That’s one funny lady.
LOL!! That’s a common sense statement, but liberals don’t have common sense. I think I discovered her because somebody on FR had posted a link to one of her YouTube videos a while back. When I first started watching her videos, I hadn’t known how badly she’d been cancelled. I’ve never joined Facebook or Twitter. I tried Parler, Gettr, Gab and then Truth Social, but quit them all. I’m just not much of a social media person. I’ve been here almost 26 years. This is the only socializing I need.
You’ve been here since 1997. You must be one of the first members of our forum. Much respect to a venerable Freeper.
+1
Fans of both Katie and Tommy.
yep.
Google and Bing identify both as “Far-Right”.
How come you never see the term “Far-Left” used by search engines?
The above question is rhetorical.
SWEET. Katie Hopkins rocks!
Thanks...I've grown old with Free Republic, and it's been a pleasure. I've had a longer relationship with FR than I did with my ex-husband. 🤣
