All but 12 House Democrats voted against Johnson’s $14.3 billion aid proposal Thursday night, with most citing the Speaker’s decision to include cuts in equal amounts to IRS funding.
The legislation is also opposed by leaders of both parties in the Senate, who want a broader package including aid to Ukraine, leaving the fate of the Israel funds in question amid escalating hostilities in Gaza almost a month after Hamas’s terrorist attacks killed more than 1,400 people.
Heading into the weekend, Johnson’s Democratic critics remained furious with the decision to combine the aid to Israel — an issue that has historically enjoyed wide bipartisan support — with a highly partisan cut to one of President Biden’s pet programs.
..
Rep. Erin Houchin (R-Ind.) said Friday when asked about the Democratic criticisms. “We are in a critical fiscal calamity right now with our spending. It is a matter of national security for the United States that our fiscal house is in such poor shape, you know, we must offset spending and that’s the mechanism we chose to use.”

So since he’s not going to pass it anyway, we might as well pass worthless crap?
It’s time for those morons to show a little bipartisanship.
I like it. It shows how committed to IRS funding the Dems are.
I haven't read any other posts on this thread, but I really don't have to - because you captured it all very succinctly. I truly don't know how we can continue to coexist with the current iteration of the Democrat party. They are truly anti-American, anti-freedom, anti-faith, anti-wholesomeness, anti-everything positive that America has ever stood for.
We need our Own Homeland !
Let them. Let the democraps show what is most important for them.
Why unbundle the cuts needed to pay for the aid? That sounds like what the Democrats do. Unbundle and they can get the aid and prevent the cuts.
Don't tell me....the infants are formulating a "strongly-worded letter"???
👍👍👍👍👍
love it!
He should have just told them you can read the bill after you vote on the bill. just title it comprehensive middle east peace bill, make it 1600 pages and write every republican wish and cut to dem to programs in it. Any complaints, Nancy made me do it this way.
Isn’t it time Nancy Pelosi insists on the Pay-Go policy she is always lecturing Republicans about. Whenever Repubs want to increase defense spending they have to increase taxes or cut something Conservatives favor.
Good. Maybe they’ll have heart attacks and save us from their destruction of America.
It’s unpatriotic to cut government spending.
As usual, the party of misery is always in a rage.
Good to know their priorities.
Democrats won’t get this months cut of the Ukraine check and they’re pissed.
good compromise,
at some point he’ll have to say “take it or leave it”
