“Gender Affirming” — that when they explain to you that your gender is wrong, it’s a problem, and you can and should change your gender so that it’s no longer ruining your life. That’s the kind of Affirmation they offer.

I knew others were making the same observations at their clinics, and I hoped my paper would spark discussion about their concerns—that's how medicine corrects itself. But our field, instead of acknowledging the problems we described, became more committed to expanding these treatments.
IOW, politics and woke ideology superseded the science.

Such “care” takes girls who are experiencing difficulty transitioning to womanhood, and young boys who are experiencing difficulty dealing with their homosexuality, and brutalizes them under the name of science and medicine.
