If you go with Hospice care you will get a nurse and any meds if needed. You probably qualify and if you have any ‘emergency’ you can change your mind and be taken to the hospital right then, as a full code. They will bathe you and change your linens, wash your hair. It’s very helpful and I am in Az where it is completely covered by insurance. I am thinking California probably has this coverage.
You make very good points regarding hospice. Yet so many people recoil in horror at the idea of going into hospice care.

Patients in palliative care may receive medical care for their symptoms, or palliative care, along with treatment intended to cure their serious illness. Palliative care is meant to enhance a person’s current care by focusing on quality of life for them and their family.
