Sen. Daines to Rest of GOP Field: Drop Out, Coalesce Behind Trump for President
Breitbart ^ | 28 Oct 2023 | MATTHEW BOYLE

National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) chairman Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) is calling on everyone but former President Donald Trump to drop out of the 2024 GOP presidential primary and coalesce behind Trump.

“I was surprised, but I think that’s the right move,” Daines said, according to Politico, when former Vice President Mike Pence dropped out of the race on Saturday at the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) event in Las Vegas, Nevada.

NEW: NRSC Chairman Steve Daines, who is backing trump, said Trump’s rivals should drop out and coalesce, following Pence’s suspension

“it’s clear President Trump is going to be the nominee” https://t.co/NsFcdCHHUU

— Alex Isenstadt (@politicoalex) October 28, 2023

“Because it’s clear President Trump is going to be the nominee for Republicans for president, and the sooner we coalesce around him the better it’s going to be,” Daines added.

Daines has already endorsed Trump, but this is a significant escalation from one of the party’s top leaders in the Senate. As NRSC chairman, Daines oversees party spending and resources decisions on U.S. Senate races—and has been very active in recruiting key Senate candidates nationwide as Republicans embark on an effort to retake the majority in the upper chamber of Congress.

Calling for the other Republicans like Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, and more to drop out of the race and coalesce behind Trump—and predicting Trump will be the GOP nominee—is an even bigger move than just endorsing Trump. It’s a party heavyweight aiming to steer the conversation towards what almost everyone believes to be inevitable,

Daines is Swamp, so this means that the Swamp has given up on defeating Trump in the Primary, and will work to undermine him in other ways.

Meatball delivers “Result” because he has a GOP Majority in FLA State
House and Senate. Plus very few if any RINOS in FLA State House and Senate.
Not comparable to U.S. House and Senate, where RINOS are bred like rabbits.
In addition, Trump is leading Ronnie in FLA State polling by 20-25%.

I think it’s related to Biden preparing and Executive Order for his term to be extended without an election.

Kidding——I think.

De Santis helped start the Freedom Caucus, back when Trump was a Democrat. Trump campaigns with Lindsey Graham and awarded Fauci. Trump is the only RINO of the two.

the others are not in the race because they think they will win. rather they are in the race as place holders in case trump is unable to run because he is in jail.

But you said you voted for Trump Twice. I doubt it. You sound like a former
angry CruzBot. Trump roughed up Lying Ted so badly, Teddy will NEVER be
President. He is lucky he is still a Senator. Meatball has dropped to 8% in
recent polls. GOP voters seem happy with Trump with @50 Point lead over
his nearest Challengers(Meatball and Haley). Watch out for Haley. She is
the one Rich Anti-Trump Donors are shifting to. Ronnie will eventually slink
back to FLA with his tail between his legs.

“They’re wasting their money on the dwarfs.”

it’s worse than that really, because having a bunch of irrelevant losers pointlessly bicker at each on live national TV over and over again makes the whole Republican Party look like a bunch of fools ...

Charming. Do you actually think Trump voters would vote for RD? Some will, but most won’t. Nobody trusts him!!!

“I’ll go with whoever the most conservative candidate in the general is”

Is there even ONE conservative, non-globalist, in the mix besides Trump?

“the petulant name calling.”

And you probably didn’t like his mean tweets, either.

I was partial to reasonable gas and grocery prices.

It was nice to not be sending America’s kids to die in wars that aren’t our business.

Having illegals “remain in Mexico” for years instead of invading our country was pretty good.

But I can see how “petulant name calling” is way worse. [eye roll] Reading posts like this, by mental midgets, is embarrassing.

Should the unlikely happen and somebody needs to replace Trump before the election, the pick should be somebody MAGA, not Meathead or one of the seven dwarfs.

Sure, and if Trump has amassed enough delegates and goes before the convention, then those delegates will decide. But, like it or not, there will be a huge bias towards someone who has bothered to go out and campaign.

Just out of curiosity: who would you pick to replace Trump if for whatever reason he wasn't able to be the nominee?

An insight I have is that MAGA doesn't have a lot of depth. Originally DeSantis was considered MAGA, but in challenging Trump he seems to have aliented the MAGA true-believers and become a disliked person, not as much as Pence, but close.

So, you've dismissed all of the remaining candidates (which to some extent I agree with) so then who would a convention dominated by Trump MAGA electors prefer?

It's not an easy question to answer, is it? And that's a weakness for MAGA in my estimation.

Crispy Creosote isn’t interested in supporting Pres. Trump. The whole point for these RINO Derp Staters is sabotaging his candidacy, especially for the general election. They have never been on our side.
