The White House’s defense of the $200,000 payment Joe Biden received from his brother James Biden is not backed up by the bank records possessed by the House Oversight Committee.
House Oversight Chairman James Comer wrote a letter to White House Counsel Edward Siskel requesting financial records to back up the White House’s claim that James Biden was paying off a loan from Joe Biden with the $200,000 check. Comer said in the letter the bank records do not indicate Joe Biden sent his brother a large loan that needed to be paid back.

“The White House has claimed Joe Biden loaned James Biden $200,000, and this check was repayment. Records obtained by the Committee do show numerous large incoming transactions into the personal account of James and Sara Biden from various entities. Some of these transaction records may have obscured the identity of the true payer, but no records in the Committee’s possession state that Joe Biden made a large loan payment to his brother,” Comer’s letter reads.

You would THINK the news media’s first response to Jim’s massive check to Joe would be “Okay, where’s the evidence of Joe’s initial loan to Jim?” but.. NOPE.

The pay-offs or threats to the media must be enormous! As recently as 15 years ago, a journalist would have given their right arm for such a story. Of course that would have been pre-Obama. Media has always been left-wing, but once Obama was elected, they discarded all pretense of being neutral and became advocates for the left. All to the point they now participate in hiding corruption by the left while creating corruption by conservatives.

Not only the evidence of the loan... but if you are a lender you are supposed to declare the interest of the loan on your taxes. Even if you collect no interest, you have to declare it as income and the minimum rate is based on the average of one of the short, medium or long term treasuries depending on the intended term of the loan.
Well wasn’t he making $400k as Veep? And his Senate pension? And I presume he had some speaking engagements between 2016-2020. It’s at least plausible he could have saved enough legitimate money to loan his brother $200k after 40-50 years of saving.
Still, need evidence that a loan was made... and whether he declared it on his taxes.

Hunter Biden received a $250,000 loan from a Chinese businessman just three months after his father launched his 2020 presidential campaign, and he later transferred the debt to a Hollywood lawyer he befriended, according to evidence gathered by federal and congressional investigators.
The House Oversight Committee first disclosed a few weeks ago that Hunter Biden had gotten a $250,000 wire in July 2019 and used his father’s address in Delaware for the transfer. It was one of the later known foreign payments that Hunter Biden received before he fell on hard times. Documents gathered by federal law enforcement and reviewed by Just the News show Hunter Biden considered the wire to be a July 25, 2019 “loan” from Xiangsheng “Jonathan” Li, a Chinese businessman whom he had been doing business with for over a decade when they created an investment fund under the name Bohai Harvest RST (BHR).
After Joe Biden became president, the records show, Hunter Biden transferred the debt to Kevin Morris, a Hollywood lawyer whom he befriended after they met at a November 2019 Joe Biden campaign fundraiser in Los Angeles. The debt was “assumed” by Morris on Nov. 17, 2021 when the lawyer acquired Hunter Biden’s stake in the BHR partnership and a separate company called Skaneateles, LLC, according to one record reviewed by Just the News. Hunter Biden “is no longer the primary obligor” as a result of the transaction with Morris, that memo stated. Morris’ assumption of the debt obligation is only part of millions of dollars in assistance the lawyer, a Democrat donor, has given Hunter Biden since the two met.
