-At least 22 people have been shot dead in a mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine, and 50-60 people injured at three different locations

-Robert Card, a 40-year-old Army reservist and firearms instructor from Bowdoin, is named by police as 'a person of interest': his empty car has been found

-They have issued a photo of the suspect entering Sparetime bowling alley at 7:15pm; they were also called to a bar and a Walmart distribution center

A massive manhunt is underway in Maine for an Army reserve firearms instructor who was sectioned this summer for mental health reasons, and is suspected of shooting dead 22 people on Wednesday night at multiple sites in Lewiston.

Robert Card, 40, from Bowdoin, Maine, was named by Maine state police as the a 'person of interest' in the shootings at a bowling alley, restaurant and Walmart distribution center.

He was sectioned after saying he was hearing voices, and threatening to shoot up his National Guard base in Saco, Maine.

Card was armed with an AR 15-style rifle with laser optics when he burst into the bowling alley at 7:15pm to begin his rampage.

He was driving a 2013 white Subaru: Eric Samson, sheriff of Androscoggin County, announced at 11:20pm that law enforcement officers have found the vehicle in Lisbon, about seven miles southeast of Lewiston - but Card was not inside.

Mike Sauschuck, a law enforcement spokesperson in Lewiston, said Card 'is considered armed and dangerous.'

“Right an act of terrorism by the Federal Gov possibly?”

So, a federal agent walks into the office one day and asks, “Hey boss, what do you have for me today?”

His boss then says, “Here’s the deal, you head up to Maine, shoot and kill as many people as possible, we will then hunt you down, kill you or capture you and sentence you to death, and sure you may get a promotion.”

Is there much of a difference between Bush and Obama?

At one time I thought there was. Not so much since the lights on the Uniparty have been ignited.

Not likely but this FBI boss might say hey we have this “Kite (Someone they can disavow and throw away)” who you can use to head up to Maine, shoot and kill as many people as possible, we will then hunt him down and kill him so your name never comes out..My way is more realistic..

We now know that Card was in a hospital just a few months ago for serious mental health issues. Why didn't the authorities add up two and two and figure out that because of his knowledge of firearms and had access to them, he was ALREADY a danger to society? Card should have been immediately banned from accessing firearms and STAY confined to a hospital until he got serious treatment.

Only the police and military should have guns.

I can agree with your statement if you remember, that in some situations you basically become your own "first responder" or "police" for self-defense.

That is how our constitution, laws, and court system have recognized the reality of living in the United States.

If that causes you to feel uneasy you have a right to exit this country for a “safer” gun restricted country like Israel or Europe.

Sadly bleeding heart liberals think that Institutionalizing severely disturbed Individuals is “cruel” and “unfair”

The issue isn't really what "bleeding heart liberals" think, the issue is the multiple State and Federal laws which prevent confinement of mentally ill people in secure facilities.

The New Hampshire Hospital had 6000 beds for seriously mentally ill people in 1955. Now there are 135 beds.

Anyone with eyes to see understands that the scale of the problem is off the charts comparing 2023 with 1955.

This cannot be changed without changing the laws.

And any time you bring up the obvious need to change the laws, someone brings up a stupid Jack Nicholson movie as a counter argument.

Mass stupidity and fantasy beliefs are fueling this problem, and it's not just "liberals" who are living in a fantasy world regarding the seriously mentally ill.

Card should have ... [stayed] confined to a hospital until he got serious treatment.

There is no State whose laws permit that.

I didn’t mean to say that against carry, I was just saying dangerous mentally ill people in a mental health facility shouldn’t be let go because some psychiatrist believed their con game and signed them out. Whether the con game was intentional or part of the delusion, some people are dangerous.

It's judges, enforcing black letter law, who are letting them go.

If you are not discussing changing the laws, you aren't talking seriously about this topic.

I want to be serious, especially with a knowledgeable person like you.
I believe the incompetent, woke biased or corrupt judges are a major problem. In these mental health cases don’t they use a signed document from a psychiatrist and go from there?
Honestly, you know more than I about these laws.

I just report (as the saint from Fatima in my tagline did on a much higher level). My source said it.

That 1970 Gore Vidal novel and movie was a cautionary tale and we didn’t realize it. Gender change to turn a man into Raquel Welch was too outrageous for a human mind to contemplate. Now that type of thing is in K-12 school policy discussions.

It is pure sarcasm from me. It is the left’s idea of gun ownership, not mine. I throw that out in situations wherein citizens urgently needed guns but were not able to access them, and the police response time was useless. Worse still are the times when the police arrived relatively soon but didn’t engage the shooter because they waited for “backup” like swat while people were still being shot.

If anybody is wondering why those skeptical of anything the mockingbird MSM fake noose puts out are quiet these days, with WW3 looming, and the DSC seemingly out of control...

Some of it is the credibility of those making claims as certainties.

Like the FReeper who insisted that a picture and indeed video of a C-17 taking off from Kabul in 2021 were faked and indeed were of an inflatable C-17.

Or that the US military personnel were who were killed by a suicide bomber were in fact, not dead.

Thank you.
I wonder just how many other inflection points happen in our lives with us barely or unaware that they occurred? You realize that in our youth, we once went outside and played all day with our friends for the last time ever, then came inside to begin the rest of our lives?
