It’s going to be Johnson. Unanimous from GOP so far. Rate means it will get to 215 required today.

Looks like it will be Speaker Johnson
Emmer just voted for Johnson. It looks like the Republican caucus is unified and Johnson will get the gavel. No defections so far and we are in the F's.

I’m glad to see it. All the chaos will be forgotten a week from now. Let’s give Mike a chance to see how he does through the end of the year. Of course, the lawyers always seem to rise to the top from a very low bottom, don’t they?

Johnson now has 107 without any defections. He is more than half way there.

Johnson has this. He will be the next Speaker. The Republicans decided to be unanimous looks like. When Gaetz stood up to vote for Johnson, not a soul in the place clapped for him like they did for other leaders.

... It would be incredibly silly to expect anyone to list all their warts and failings on their bio, but incognito and anonymous suggests . . .I find it usually suggests merely a desire for privacy. I never look at a bio unless a poster points one out. I generally find the ones who puff to be conceited.

No defections yet. Loooking good.

I did notice that he was a lawyer ... He looks younger than he is, so I suppose/hope he knows what he’s getting into.

That’s funny, cause in my 40 odd years of being aware of politics in this Country, I’ve seen very few congresscritters, (especially in Rep Leadership), who were/are conservative.
So, for me, I am not offended by a conservative purity test.
Not having one, has worked so well I guess? /s

Gaetz and company disrupted the entire GOP line of succession in the House. They hate him for that, but its what the party base wants.

Before his election to Congress in 2016, Johnson was a partner in the Kitchens Law Firm and a senior attorney and national media spokesman for the Alliance Defense Fund, now known as Alliance Defending Freedom. Johnson was also formerly chief counsel of the nonprofit law firm Freedom Guard.

“Gaetz and company disrupted the entire GOP line of succession in the House.”
And it appears that it worked out beautifully. Gaetz is crazy like a fox.

It needed to be done. Time will tell how this works, but this puts the RINOs on notice that collaboration with the Bidet Regime has a price. The base won't forget. The Uniparty has been exposed.
