I think you’re jumping to conclusions. The author is talking about the land exit from Gaza at the Sinai border, which is the most accessible route for evacuation; it does not mean that Egypt alone has to take in and absorb alone all the Palestinians. It means that from there the evacuees can be more readily dispersed to wherever, and to whatever countries agree to take them in.

He's an American Jew living in Israel, and he knows damn well that many (if not most) of those Palestinians would end up here in the U.S.
