Who’s going to agree to that and fork over their college fund? Not the first time I’ve noticed VDH doesn’t always think things through.
What if, at least, there was an independent, third-party entity who created a series of tests that determines minimum competency (as defined by employers) in critical areas that employers, at their choosing, could require employees to take as part of the interview process?
Substandard colleges and their substandard graduates would quickly be identified for the world to see.
Give him points for trying, but yes VDH is offering fixes for something broken beyond fixing. Like duct taping over cracks in the foundation. He catalogues the decline well though.
