Progressive Jews who have spent years supporting racial equity, gay and transgender rights, abortion rights and other causes on the American left — including opposing Israeli policies in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank — are suddenly feeling abandoned by those who they long thought of as allies. This wartime shift represents a fundamental break within a liberal coalition that has long powered the Democratic Party.
In Los Angeles, Rabbi Sharon Brous, a well-known progressive activist who regularly criticizes the Israeli government, described from the pulpit her horror and feelings of “existential loneliness,” her voice breaking. “The clear message from many in the world, especially from our world — those who claim to care the most about justice and human dignity — is that these Israeli victims somehow deserved this terrible fate.”
In Atlanta, a Jewish mother involved in local politics wrote an open letter lamenting that her child’s progressive private school had not addressed the attacks in Israel with the same kind of empathy it showed after local killings of Asian Americans. “Our people are butchered, and no one speaks to it?” she wrote. “I don’t know if I’m seething or just sad.”

As per Solzhenitsyn, even in the Gulags the Communist party bureaucrats (Jewish or not) still believed that their incarceration was all a mistake and sooner or later Comrade Stalin would release them. For some people, no amount of reality can penetrate what they wish to be true. There seems to be a principle at work here that if you walk away from revealed truth, or you’re not all that concerned about pursuing it, you are in great danger of believing that which will destroy you. The battered wife that still believes ‘he’ll change’ or the liberal Jew that believes there’s a political solution for the demonically inspired hatred against them, they don’t seem to see what is plain to everyone else. It’s very sad for the Jews and I know things are only going to get worse for them.
There are people of Jewish descent and still with Jewish names who identify as “progressives” but most of them are really communists or at least “useful idiots” for communism (whether they realize it or not).
And nearly all of these people abandoned faith and religion and Biblical moral teachings years ago. It is impossible to pursue or support the Marxist materialism of “progresivism” and still be a faithful Jew or Christian — moral teaching and communism are contradictory belief systems and the leftist play book recognizes this as all communist regimes and most “progressives” are anti- Christian and anti- Jewish.

It’s only going to get worse for the Jewish people. But it’s going to get bad for all of us too. Not hard to believe that God is drawling things to a close - and I think soon. Prayers for our Jewish friends that God removes the vale from their eyes.

The Western Jew is generally far left ideologically seen. The idea of a Kibbutz is basically a communist commune. Many of the folks in Israel today came from Eastern European nations that were very socialist and if you look at Israel you see they are actually very far left when it comes to many of their social policies etc. If you look at Hollywood (very Jewish) you see they’re far left. But their strongest allies (folks that tend to not be anti-Semites) and even like them, who support Israel and see the Palestinians as the bad guys, are folks that tend to be on the right, especially if they’re religious.
It’s a odd situation where the folks that share your values don’t like you, but the folks that you make fun of and sort of see as backward hicks are in reality your best friends. Yet, the Jews will pretty much vote Democrat, because at the end of the day, they are ideologically far left.
