I kind of doubt a 3rd party guy would get 16%. Perot got 18% and he was a bigger name than RFK (or at least you saw him on tv a lot )
That was probably according to plan. The media thought Perot would hurt Bush more than Clinton, so he was all over TV (plus, he had his own money to buy TV time).
