1) do they have enough fighting men to repel an invasion from the north, or better still if attacked to push them back another 20 miles and hold the land? They had a hard time doing it the last go around but I think they did not deploy a lot of troops. They took a lot of casualties.

2) I hope we are selling and delivering enough interceptor missiles as fast as we can produce them for their Iron Dome. I have always believed the Iron Dome is a life saver for both sides. If they can knock a rocket out of the sky it saves lives in Israel, and doesn’t force them into a ground invasion that will cause deaths on both sides. It’s really a remarkable system in that regard.

3) I don’t want the US to get involved militarily. That said, we owe Hezbullah some payback for the 1980 Marine barracks bombing. That bill may come due now. In further of this thought, could it be that there are other parties in the ME that want to see Hezbullah eradicated as much as they want to see Hamas eradicated? I dare say yes. So maybe, just maybe, the Saudis and Gulf States and many in the Lebanese establishment would like to see them crushed. Perhaps a few others. Maybe the time to change the dynamics in the region entirely is now.

Your comment is the most meaningful I have read all day. THIS is the crux. The Middle East CANNOT truly progress so long as these barbaric terrorist groups fed by Iran are left in place for going on 50 years now. Hamas, Hizbollah, Islamic Jihad, and the entire PLO/PA/Fatah dictatorship as well are a lead weight on the neck of the region, harming both Jews and Arabs from moving forward to a modern age and to peace and prosperity. I DO NOT want a U.S. war with Iran in any way, nor an Israeli one. But if the U.S. and Israel can cooperate in destroying Hizbollah and Hamas completely, Iran would be so weakened as to invite a revolt from within, which we could support financially and with arms.

so many possibilities, and so many ways to also f**k things up...particularly if the Linda Grahams and Neocons take the reigns of it.
