The reason is that 'Palestinians' have never agreed to a two-state solution, which would be required for peace in the region.

There has NEVER been a state of Palistine. The region was part of the Ottoman Empire for 500 years before it was won by Britain during WW1. During WW1 Britian promised the Palestinians a homeland in the region for their support against the Ottomans. But at the same time in the Balfour Declaration the British offered the Jews a homeland with Jerusalem as a capital.

So the British offered the region to two different groups as a homeland. Things got much worse in the 30's when the NAZIs came to power and MANY more Jewish moved to the area.

In 1937 the Peel Commission worked to resolve the problem and create two seperate states - Isreal and Palistine. The Palistinians refused to take part, or accept a second state of Isreal.

In 1947 the UN put forth a 2 state Partition plan, which again the Palestinians refused to accept. When Isreal accepted it and declared an independent state of Isreal, the Palistinians and Arab countries immediately declared war. Isreal win that war and an armistice was signed that gave them control of additional territory.

As other Arab countries have accepted the two state solution, Palistinians and Iran steadfastly refuse. There ahe main reason for this is theological. They believe in a worldwide Muslim Caliphate and how can that happen if they allow Isreal to exist?

There can be no peace the region until all parties agree to a two-state solution. And that will never occur while hard-core Muslin extremists believe and push for a global Caliphate, which a state of Isreal denies.

“There can be no peace the region until all parties agree to a two-state solution. “

Native Americans in the United States can speak to the equity of the “two state solution”. Once side gets the good land . The other side gets the bad land the side with the good land does’t want. The result is perpetual poverty for the side with the bad land.
