Victor Davis Hanson: Hamas and Amoral Clarity
American Greatness ^ | 12 Oct, 2023 | Victor Davis Hanson

Support for Hamas killers by the college DEI crowd reveals the real moral and intellectual rot in higher ed

One unexpected blowback from the medieval Hamas’s barbaric murdering of hundreds of Israeli civilians is the revelation of current global amorality.

More than 20 Harvard university identity politics groups pledged their support to the Hamas murderers—to the utter silence for days of Harvard President Claudine Gay.

Americans knew higher education practiced racist admission policies. It has long promoted racially segregated dorms and graduations. And de facto it has destroyed the First Amendment.

But the overt support for Hamas killers by the diversity, equity, and inclusion crowd on a lot of campuses exposes to Americans the real moral and intellectual rot in higher education.

Democratic Socialist members of the new woke Democrat Party openly expressed ecstatic support for Hamas’s bloodwork.

Their biggest fears were not dead fellow Americans or hostages, or some 1,000 butchered Jewish civilians. Instead they were fearful that righteous Israeli retaliation might destroy the Hamas death machine.

Palestinians for years fooled naïfs in Europe and the Obama and Biden administrations into sending billions of dollars into Gaza.

These monies were channeled to tunnel into Israel, to obtain a huge rocket arsenal, and to craft plans to wipe out Jews.

The Biden administration has blood on its hands.

As soon as Biden took power, he resumed massive subsidies to radical Palestinians, canceled by the prior Trump administration.

He ignored warnings from his own state Department that such fungible moneys would soon fuel Hamas terrorism.

His administration dropped sanctions against Iran, ensuring that Tehran would enjoy a multi-billion-dollar windfall to be distributed to Israel’s existential enemies—another fact well known to the Biden administration.

If the Biden administration had announced overtly that it was rabidly anti-Israel, it would be hard to imagine anything...

Biden will try to stop Israel from striking Iran, especially their precious nuclear facilities.

The inability of some college age knuckleheads to say the 9/11 terrorists were evil did that....

Is Obama, Val Jarret, Biden, et. al. orchestrating the Hamas attacks to divert from Biden’s impending impeachment? which might actually stick.

I can think of a way to back away from global amorality —

Test that concept. Go for absolute genocide of Palestinians. Wipe them out. After that has been accomplished, see how the world feels about it. If it seems to be unpopular (if the world is horrified by the amorality of it), then get a global treaty for nations to sign declaring that targeting people for their ethnicity or nationality will not be tolerated. Make sure to specify the Jews and Israelis as well as other people in this agreement. Once the world agrees on this, the Middle East may become a lot more peaceful, since the Arabs and Muslims will no longer start fights with Israel

Sounds as if it’s about time to re-
institute the draft, but minus college exemptions.

If you bulldozed the entire Gaza Strip you could turn it into a great Mediterranean resort area.

The Biden administration has blood on its hands.

True, as is the cultural rot at universities. Also true, the GOP does nothing to correct it.

Yes. It’s so annoying having wade through one ad pop up after another to read an article. So annoying. There has to be a better way to generate revenue.

it’s about time to re-
institute the draft of college. students only, with trade school exemptions only.

We need to conserve doers,

not pseudo/thinkers ( marxists),

except as draft fodder.

Win/win

Imho.

Absolutely not. The Palestinians on Gaza are the captives of Hamas. Hamas needs to be killed. Their captive subjects protected to the extent possible. Same as the Iranians. Their government needs to be eliminated. Their subjects protected.

Today’s college students = moral and intellectual rot because they are brainwashed by instructors who align directly with ‘agendas’ of the left for world governance. They lack greatly in understanding doing little if any critical thinking...rather they are easily mislead....You can tell instantly by the vocabulary thy use regurgitating leftist lingo and talking points - nothing original in their own thinking.

This war is not about “Resistance” as is being spread by the Palestinians leadership and Hamas...it’s about Terrorism - period. It is unfortunate that Palestinians have never contributed anything to their own society - 50% of the population is unemployed because nobody wants to help these violent creatures who create chaos wherever they are.

The people that my wife and I have met personally from Iran and “Palestine” have been very nice. But they were people who were Christians and fled because their lives were in extreme danger because of their beliefs. Unfortunately for decades now children living in both Iran and “Palestine” have been indoctrinated with extremely hateful propaganda about Israel, the United States and all non-Muslim peoples. The people who were Christians were mostly killed or had to flee. The population is mostly supportive of Hamas and efforts to "protect" their “captive subjects” will likely not be very successful. This is not a mess that has any easy solutions.

I would add that the population of “Palestine” is very young. The median age for both men and women is 18 years. Approximately 65% of the population is under the age of 24. These people have been indoctrinated with hateful rhetoric their entire lives and buy into it overwhelmingly.
