Rep. Kevin Hern, R-Okla., on Wednesday announced his bid for House Majority Leader just moments after House Republicans nominated current Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., for House speaker.
In a statement posted to X, Hern said it is clear “that there is an appetite for a new face in leadership” after speaking with every member of the conference.
“I believe that my experience outside of Congress makes me uniquely qualified to lead our Majority,” Hern said. “We need leaders who listen twice as much as they speak, who are conservative because they've seen the impact of Democrat policies firsthand, and who aren't afraid to change the way things have been done around here.”

Steve Scalise - (current Majority Leader): 58%
Tom Emmer - (current Majority Whip): 69%
Hurn will be MUCH better than if Whip Emmer was to move up one post.
And this may be the payoff for Scalise votes. Hurn as Majority Leader instead of Emmer.

So Jordan will continue simply with his committee, which doesn’t seem to be getting anywhere very fast?
Has there been any commitment by any of these folks as to what they will do with Ukraine aid, to me that’s important since McCarthy apparently made a back deal with the Democrats
*********** Uh oh. That statement will doom his chances. The R's don't want to move forward; they want the status quo.
Scalise=McCarthy=Ryan. We gained nothing
The GOP is dead. Conservatives need to get rolling with the serious creation of a new political party that’s conservative, only, ASAP. It’s going to take much longer for this to happen the longer that conservatives do nothing about it.
Steve Scalise and Donna Brazille what a couple.
Couldn’t see Trump off, had a hot date.
RIP GOP.
There is always a RINO in the Republican party willing to sabotage the party’s efforts to govern.
Hat tip to you. Not sure Jordan would be any different, unfortunately . I would hope he would, than I’m reminded of sessions, gowdy, barr.....
My understanding is that Scalise has always voted to give Ukraine multiple billions and will likely continue to do so.
Hern.
Agreed
Hern seems to be the best of the lot right now
👍👍👍👍👍
Yep, the party’s contempt for the base is obvious. We despise Mitch so they make him minority leader. The last person we wanted was Ronna so they made her chairman. We wanted Jordon so they gave us Scalise. The rats give their base pretty much what they want. We get nothing.
I agree. The sooner the better.
