My point is that Trump should have more strongly endorsed, even demanded, Jordan. I think Scalise is just a different flavor of McCarthy and the past, he’s part of McCarthy’s leadership team.

They got rid of McCarthy because he didn’t keep his promises. Scalise is pretty conservative, acting first as minority whip to McCarthys minority leader he had to toe the line. Same when he became majority leader when McCarthy was SoH. You have to be a team player, but I’m not worried about his conservative roots. The only thing that worries me is he is fighting cancer.

Once I heard Gaetz saying, “they’re both good men, we win either way” I knew it was over. It’s not on Trump. The 8 who voted against McCarthy needed to go to bat with whomever THEY wanted and held the line. Without that the swamp was always going to want the next in line. This changed nothing in the end. Gaetz drops back to earth for me as when I saw him throw all caution to the wind I thought he’d do something special. In the end he just took the next guy in line.
Yea but I am confident they are going to remove the motion to vacate. In the end they’ll be in a weaker position.

Scalise won because he can raise more cash for campaigns
than Jordan,and money is the milk of politics.
I preferred Jordan because he has fighter in him and
Scalise has always been a softie, he will bend over and
give the uniparty Ukraine money, extend the budget deadline.
He won’t be as bad as Charlie McCarthy but it ain’t good.
I heard that they did not get along—at least not in recent times—and that Scalise was not happy with Kevin. Who knows.
