Syria aimed “a number of launches” at Israel on Tuesday evening, prompting Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to respond with shelling aimed at the launch site, the military said in a statement.
“A number of launches from Syria aimed for Israel were identified a short while ago. Part of the launches crossed into Israeli territory and presumably fell in open areas,” the IDF said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“IDF soldiers are responding with artillery and mortar shells toward the origin of the launching in Syria,” the IDF said in a subsequent statement on X.

I think this is the first time that Israel has bombed Syria since like September or something. Pretty sure it's been about two weeks.

The strikes are part of an escalation of what has been a low-intensity conflict whose goal is to slow down Iran's growing entrenchment in Syria, Israeli and regional military experts say.Sep 13, 2023 This is what I found. This looks surprising like ancient history in real life Sort of like the Roman limes or the marches in serval different areas during the middle ages.
Civilization has frontiers with barbarian groups. They fortify the line and keep a close watch on it. When the barbarians start getting frisky, the garrisons goes out on a punitive expedition to smack that down.

I was trying to draw attention to the fact that Israel bombing Syria is nothing new.

You are correct. It sort of like pest control. They pretty much are always swatting this roach or that fly

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to respond with shelling aimed at the launch site, the military said in a statement. While I support such action, I think it would be better to hit the sites before they launch. Eliminating empty launch tubes is fun but not very effective long term.

Don’t pussyfoot around. One warning, quietly behind the scenes, then a second warming out in the open. Then Obliterate the Presidential palace.

I am amazed at all the people who are outraged that Israel didn’t have Soldiers lined up shoulder to shoulder on their borders.
They need to figure out how many Soldiers that would be.

What’s left of Syria…..they got hammered
To: BusterDog
A number of launches from Syria aimed for Israel were identified a short while ago. I know they don't want to get into capabilities, but fire back-tracking radar is older than dirt.
They should have hit those launchers within minutes of them launching - which does no good for the first launch, but will prevent a second or third if they don't move, or aren't fast enough moving.

No nation can afford enough soldiers for that task.
Which is why a nation needs a heavily armed citizenry if it is serious about national sovereignty.

Yep.
And potential enemies have to be truly afraid of the return fire.
These savages weren’t afraid of the return fire.

I've been killing flies in the house since I got up and saw them in the kitchen window. A few sprays of window cleaner and they drop to the window sill and then I grab them with a piece of paper towel and smash/wad up the towel and wish I could be doing the same thing to these DAMNED terrorscum in person except replace the window cleaner with a Round dipped in Pic fat and blood.
Unfortunately I'm too old and got 1 bad foot/ankle and mobility is a problem. But I'm there in Prayer and Spirit !!!

Considering they took 1500 KIA in their assault forces, maybe they should learn to be afraid of return fire. Or perhaps not.
It is easier to kill “heros” then smart people
