Cato the Elder said this in the Roman Senate debates prior to the Third Punic War, which culminated in the levelling of Carthage to make it uninhabitable - I like to believe that the later legend that the Romans also salted the earth to make it non-arable is true.

The author is correct. No truce. But Hamas is playing its cards wisely here.
The call for a truce will give the Islamist propagandists a bit more to work with.
And make to mistake about it. The call for a truce will win over many liberal mush-heads (the pope, the UN, many Democrat senators, etc.). This will put more unfair and unnecessary pressure on Israel.
Anyway, no truce regardless.
Hell, when Israel really starts to pound Gaza the Hamas soldiers ... I mean terrorists will just drop their weapons and hide among the women and children and claim they are just law abiding citizens.

Unconditional surrender. Anything else extends the decades old conflict more decades.
