The United Arab Emirates has warned the Assad regime in Syria not to intervene in the Hamas-Israel war or to allow attacks on Israel from Syrian soil, according to two sources briefed on the Emirati diplomatic effort.
Why it matters: Several countries, including the U.S., are highly concerned the war could spill over to Lebanon or Syria and escalate to a regional conflict.
"[T]his is not a moment for any party hostile to Israel to exploit these attacks to seek advantage," the leaders of France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and the U.S. said in joint statement on Monday.
Behind the scenes: The Emiratis, who last year normalized their relationship with Syria and invited Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to visit Abu Dhabi, have more influence on the Syrian government than most Arab countries in the region.

IIRC, Trump had quietly pulled together a coalition of Arab states that isolated Iran on the wild stage.
Biden or his puppet master immediately began to disassemble that coalition and re-elevated Iran on the world stage.

I used to work with guys that were former AF mechanics that worked on the fighter jets.
Back in the day, Syria and Israel went at it. Israeli F15s, undetectable by Syrian defenses, were shooting down Syrian jets as they were taking off. Syria stopped launching aircraft.
With all the sh*t going on in Ukraine, so many countries with depleted ammunition stores, who knows what’s next.
Ukraine shouldn’t get a pair of shoe laces from any country at this point.
I think the Gulf Arabs, or at least those in the leadership would be happy to see Gaza destroyed. The Palestinians in Gaza are a major drag on the rest of the Arab World.

Not sure if replacing Assad with ISIS is a good idea, because that’s who his opposition is.

There is only one place that ISIS is protected. Turkey. and Afrin in Syria under Turk protection.
Assad controls Hezbollah. It would be a serious mistake for Hezbollah to step into this conflict. They will get crushed and would likely take Assad out.
Under Trump, none of this would have ever happened. And this would be ended quickly.
The Kurds are rebellious in Syria, but are no threat to Assad. He knows that. But he wants his oil in NE Syria. So far, he has not got that.
O’Biden is the turd in the punch bowl. This must end soon.
The DNC may realize that and enlist Gavin Newsom to replace Biden. Biden is too much of a $#itshow even though he does everything they want him to do on their agenda.

A little late for that.
Syria has been an active belligerent, with periodic ceasefires and use of proxies, against Israel ever since May 1948, when the Syrian army captured territory from the newly established State of Israel north and south of the Sea of Galilee.
Following Israel’s Gaza withdrawal in 2005, Hamas managed to establish an under-the-radar supply route. With Iran and Syria as its staunch allies, weapons, ammunition, and vital military equipment have flowed into Gaza. The key to this secret supply lies in the extensive tunnel network beneath the Egypt-Gaza border.
For Palestinian factions, especially Hamas, rocket weaponry holds paramount importance. These rockets, economical and uncomplicated to manufacture, empower them to strike distant Israeli locales. The 2014 Gaza War alone saw over 4,500 rockets fired at Israel by Hamas coming from Iran and Syria.

So how do they get the weapons to Egypt? Do they bribe the officers in the Egyptian military so they can get the weapons smuggled in Gaza? Or even worse, the Egyptian military officers are members of the Muslim Brotherhood?

Egypt has been a player for years. They are part time cooperatives with a number of countries from the US to Jordan. They flow with the tide in the direction they wish. But they, like many in the region, are not close with Israel just wish Israel would go away. The last time they were at war ended in 1973 with Egypt supporting Syria, Iran, and Palestine thus setting up a coop that still exists today. So movement of anything from those countries is not unusual and the only thing that is keeping Egypt from escalating into the war is their relationship with the US. Egypt is a valued U.S. partner in counterterrorism, anti-trafficking, and regional security operations, which advance both U.S. and Egyptian security. But like many in that region, they are not above prodding the current problem. And both the US and Egypt are guilty of that. But we have a joint cooperative with each other on the dark side.
According to the 2019-2020 survey, 13% of Egyptians support diplomatic recognition of Israel while 85% oppose. The Arab-Israeli conflict kept relations cool and anti-Israeli incitement is prevalent in the Egyptian media. So like the US media, they are trying to further the anti-Israel sentiment of the Egyptian people.
And we have kept Egypt clean and protected since 1978 as the United States has contributed more than $50 billion in military assistance, which has contributed to Egypt’s capabilities to protect and defend its land and maritime borders and to confront an evolving terrorist threat, including in the Sinai Peninsula. Money talks, people walk.
And the US has used Egypt as they do not follow the Geneva Convention to do some paid work for us. Example, the US CIA was allowed to go into Italy in 2003 and kidnap a terrorist spy named Abu Omar, then he was given to Egypt to get information. Abu Omar was abducted in Milan by agents of the SISMI and CIA, and transported to the Aviano Air Base, from which he was transferred to Egypt, where he was imprisoned for four years without charges, secluded, interrogated and “brutally tortured by America’s long-standing ally, the Mubarak regime. He was finally released after they had at one point put him on a spit burning a majority of his body.
These games are never really public.
