Hamas commander says attacks are in defense of Al-Aqsa, claims 5,000 missiles fired Muhammad Deif calls on Arabs in Israel and West Bank, as well as Iran-backed terror groups, to join Operation ‘Al-Aqsa Deluge’; ‘Today the people are regaining their revolution’ By GIANLUCA PACCHIANI Today, 11:22 am 1 Hamas fires a large number of rockets towards Israel in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, October 7, 2023. (Abed Rahim Khatib/Flash90) Hamas fires a large number of rockets towards Israel in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, October 7, 2023. (Abed Rahim Khatib/Flash90) The Hamas terror group in the Gaza Strip said Saturday that it had launched over 5,000 rockets at Israelis in a surprise attack that it called “Operation Al-Aqsa Deluge.”
The terror group also breached the barrier surrounding Gaza, with dozens of gunmen infiltrating Israeli towns and communities in an unprecedented attack.
“Today the people are regaining their revolution,” Hamas military commander Muhammad Deif said in a recorded message, as he called on Palestinians from East Jerusalem to northern Israel to join the fight and “expel the occupiers and demolish the walls.”

Israel put the number at more than 2,200 rockets.
“Hamas commander says...5,000 missiles fired”
If they only were able to kill 21 civilians, I’d say Israel did quite well for an attack of that magnitude.

How is it possible that I’ve seen more videos out of this war in Israel in a few hours than I have from Ukraine in almost 2 years???

I have seen more ciovilians killed by gunfire in today’s videos than rocket attacks, I think they have no clue how high the number is, breaking into homes and killing civilians?
Shooting drivers at random like ISIS did when they took over?
It’s time for Al-Aqsa to be demolished. It just causes problems.

My take - this is a pure terror attack with the single purpose to kill as many as possible and to destroy as much as possible.
Watching some of the videos this morning I saw nothing like a military attack, what I saw was young men (not in uniforms) given weapons and pointed toward the cities.
It is not designed to take and hold ground.
Yea, you’re of course correct, lots more Israeli’s will be killed (and likely have been killed already).
So far, at least, the attack seems to just be from Gaza, I believe. If so, Israel won’t have any problem ‘pacifying’ that dump and likely will go back to occupying it.
Al Aqsa? It’s always something.
My bet for best motivator is 50th calendar anniversary of the 1973 Yom Kippur War sneak attack.
Because the Israelis make a point of showing their strenght in the face of their inept, terrorist enemies. Caught by surprise, maybe, but God delivers his people none the less. He will preserve and protect a remnant no
matter the odds.
Israel should move the Gaza boundary inward ten kilometers. Then for future attacks an additional ten kilometers. Before long the Hamas rats will be biting off their tails.
“Israel should move the Gaza boundary inward ten kilometers.”
I suggested this ten years ago. I called it Kilometers for Kassams. Catchy, ain’t it.

Kind of a shame that Israel counterintelligence didn’t launch a rocket from Paleo territory that *just happened* to hit the Al-Aqsa mosque.
That could have caused some dreadful infighting between radical Muslim groups.
My proposal has always been to permanently annex 10 yards from the North per missile.
Wipe Gaza off the face of the earth.
There are videos on Twitter showing Israelis being taken hostage.
Inhabitants of Gaza are unthinking animals who gave up any chance for happiness the moment they were given Gaza as a homeland and then went about destroying all the Israeli infrastructure (agricultural and other) that they could find. Today, no Muslim states wants them. Egypt basically prorogues the entry of any Gazan to the Sinai. Saudi Arabia spits on them.
Only Islamist Iran is a Muslim ally. By your friends you demonstrate who you are.
>Umm... cut the electricity, cut the water. Among other things.
>>Israel should move the Gaza boundary inward ten kilometers. Then for future attacks an additional ten kilometers.
That, too.
What do you predict will come of those Israelis kidnapped and taken hostage? Can Israel even begin to resue them all or will it be another nightmare process like that poor soldier they held for years?
O/T, but I was my battalion’s property book officer, way back in 79-80. It’s a warrant officer’s slot, but he transferred out. I was a 1LT, but with a degree in Public Accounting.
I was in the job for 6-7 months, due to circumstances. The old man was getting worried, as he was on the hook for $25 million in assets. My books were inspected by a CW4, whose out briefing was short and to the point: “Colonel, your books are now in better shape than when LT NHN took over.”
I’ll bet Hamas doesn’t have any accountability, they shoot everything up the minute they get it.
