Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was behind the decision to kick Reps. Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer out of their Capitol hideaway offices, one of which the ousted speaker intends to move into, according to a report.

Just hours after Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC) was named House speaker pro tempore following the historic vote to strip McCarthy (R-Calif.) of his speakership Tuesday, an email went out to Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Hoyer (D-Md.) notifying them to vacate their unofficial office spaces near the House floor.

If votes are all that counts then you must accept McCarthy was defeated by the votes and accept he failed, making Gaetz right.

You are 100% correct, Matt Gaetz did something that McCarthy never did, he demonstrated how to lead and get the job done.

Personally, I could see him being a good Governor for Florida.

I was responding to the nonfactor about his “unofficial rule”. If it’s not a RULE,
McCarthy, as Speaker had the power to kick Pelosi and Hoyer out of
their secondary offices. In fact, he had the power to give them a cubby hole
for their Primary office.

Well yeah, obviously he was voted out. Winning a minor battle means nothing. There was no plan after removing McCarthy. Gaetz just wanted his cable news hits and fundraising. This illustrates how silly you all are. You rail against McCarthy for working with the dems (who control the Senate and the WH), but then you turn around and literally say "Thousands of Republicans have voted with RATs thru the years.."

When McCarthy does it, he should be removed, but when Gaetz does it, you clap like a seal. Got it. It's a wonder we ever win any elections with the brain power exhibited by your argument.

So many people are misunderstanding what happened. McCarthy kicked Pelosi and the other dem out of their offices bc the house Dems did not support him in reelection.
