"Interesting “the future of military GPS” article...

----

Speaking of the military......

"US Exports Rise to 5-Month High

Exports from the United States increased by $4.1 billion over a month to $256 billion in August 2023, the highest level in five months, boosted by a $3.1 rise in goods sales. Shipments of industrial supplies and materials increased $2.7 billion, mostly crude oil and fuel oil. At the same time, those of capital goods went up $1.1 billion and consumer goods increased $1.0 billion. On the other hand, sales of automotive vehicles, parts, and engines decreased $1.4 billion."

While Russia has stopped exports of oil from its country, the U.S. is exporting more. At the same time the U.S. is also reducing the amount of oil drilling on public lands.

Our military is a shell of its former self and our Strategic Oil Reserve has been almost depleted. Biden, in just shy of three years, has probably reduced our military defense capabilities to the point that our nation could probably not repel a foreign attack. Especially if you add in the unvetted, military-aged foreigners with no loyalty to our nation that have recently crossed over our borders. How many of them could be part of sleeper cells? We have no way of knowing.

I expect he actually DID keep his word — but not to US.

Well, yes - many of these guys are walking around DC in mortal terror of something they aren’t willing to admit exists. Easier to attack Gaetz for being a troublemaker who stirs up the wolf than to admit the wolf is real and hands out extra-legal rewards and punishments to its worshippers.

He stated several times that he had “served the people” by reaching a compromise with the Democrats and not shutting the government down.

He has forgotten a key factor: compromising with bad policy is like adding sewage to your drinking water.

I know it's difficult to accept that Gaetz is just another big-spending Republican. But try.

So, was he being untruthful when he called out McCarthy for not delivering on promised spending cuts?

Twitter has me banned for “hate speech” (See part three of my tagline), so I can’t read the tweet.

Please post what Trump said.

He could only do so much with the entire deep state against him.

He promised to end Obamacare, and didn’t. Do you blame him? Or the RINO Ryan who refused to send Trump the exact same repeal bill they had sent to Obama 50 TIMES.

He still did a lot more than any president since Reagan. Do you disagree?

I’m no fan of McCarthy, but Trump hasn’t kept his word on many things either.

Take your bull$hit KoS/DU talking points somewhere else. Matter of fact, take them back there.

You have officially volunteered to be the FR village idiot.

Congrats.......

As we wave our hands over 12 departmental budgets, keep in mind that entitlements, gimme spending, are not a part of these bills. These gimme funds are the real deficit creators.

I’ve been mocking this country for its reliance on GPS for warfare, saying things like “Well, if GPS gets me home from work, why shouldn’t it be effective against Russia and China?”

I did that because that was our mindset - GPS worked great in Afghanistan, so why bother with anything else? After all, we keep hearing here that Russia is a “Gas Station with nuclear weapons”. So, if GPS worked in Afghanistan, it would certainly work against Russia.

So, I welcome this change of mindset, but I still wonder why it took Russia neutralizing our best weapons in Ukraine, rather than reading an article like this 20 years ago, when it was OBVIOUS that blocking/spoofing GPS was easily doable.

Sadly, none of the people who’ve thrown their hats in the ring seem to be that kind of person.

Amen!

The best person is yet to commit...and may not be a member of the House which I would prefer.

He voted for several budget extensions, a two-year funding bill, earmarks, etc in the 2017-2018 Congress.

You can only vote for against what the Speaker allows to come to the floor. We really shouldn't have a King ruling the People's House.

No. If you read the Reason.com article re: Tom Massie, he can explain it pretty well:

So is that why Gaetz voted the way he did in 2017-2018?

Another take on the situation:

“We’ve got real, real problems, and they’re mounting rapidly. Fortunately, we have a gang of self-sabotaging morons riding to the rescue this week in order to make sure that there’s no focus on the serious issues, and no counter to the broken off spigot of leftist floodwater drowning the country.

Matt Gaetz and the rest of the Knucklehead Caucus carried out the Cleavon Little scene in Blazing Saddles when he became sheriff of Rock Ridge by voting with every Democrat to depose Speaker Kevin McCarthy. Now keep in mind, there isn’t a lick of principle involved in the decision. Their purported reason for needing to vacate the chair was because Speaker McCarthy allegedly made a deal with the Democrats to push through a continuing resolution in order to avoid a government shutdown, when in fact that violated his promise to conduct regular order by passing appropriations bills.

The rest of the story, of course, is that these same Knucklehead Caucus members torpedoed the very appropriations bills that went through regular order. They were marked up in conference committees, passed out of committees, and were torpedoed on the floor for no other reason than to create the shutdown showdown. Once they got to the shutdown showdown and McCarthy refused to play that game and negotiated an alternative, they removed him.

In a week, thanks to these super geniuses, they have galvanized the overarching takeaways American have of the two major political parties.”

What serious issues?

The country is better off when Congress isn’t in session.

Perhaps. So it will run on auto-pilot. I guess.

And there will be no immigration reform, or any reform. Okay.
