Exclusive — Rep. Jim Banks Endorses Jim Jordan for Speaker: He ‘Knows How to Fight Back’ Against Radical Democrats
Breitbart ^ | 4 Oct 2023 | SEAN MORAN

Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) endorsed Rep. Jim Jordan’s (R-OH) bid for speaker of the House, charging that the Ohio firebrand “knows how to fight back” against the radical Democrats.

“Speaker Pelosi kicked Jim Jordan and me off of the sham January 6th committee, which is the first and only instance in history members of Congress have been denied a seat on a Select Committee,” Banks said in an exclusive statement to Breitbart News. “Jim Jordan knows exactly how radical today’s Democrats are, and he knows how to fight back. He’s a proven conservative, and he has my support for speaker.” Jordan announced his bid to replace former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) Wednesday. The Ohio congressman serves as the chairman of the Judiciary and Weaponization of the Federal Government Committees.

The Ohio congressman has served as one of the most fervent attack dogs against alleged White House corruption and is a leader in the impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden.

Jordan was one of the original founding members of the House Freedom Caucus and has strong support from conservatives across the House Republican Conference.

In a Dear Colleague letter to Republican lawmakers, he wrote that Republicans must unite and focus on combatting an increasingly weaponized federal government, reckless spending, and closing the southern border.

“I support Jim Jordan for Speaker,” Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) said.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), who led the motion to oust McCarthy, wrote, “My mentor Jim Jordan would be great!”

“I’m taking off my jacket and rolling up my sleeves to help Jim Jordan become our next Speaker,” Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) wrote.

Thought Jordan preferred the judiciary role

He did say that.

However I suspect that he is being asked by both sides to take the Speakership. Both Gatez and Gatez’s critics have said they could support Jordan. He probably the compromise candidate between the 2 GOP factions

I’d like to hear him say how he is going to get Biden to shut down the border and build the wall.

(I think the plan was right from the start to install Jordan as replacement)

Gaetz made the right call in leading the ouster of McCarthy. And now, the more that comes to light it reinforces Gaetz actions.

As for Jordan backing McCarthy, I don’t hold that against him. Had he joined with the 8, he would never be able to garner the support of McCarthy moderates needed in order to get him across the threshold to Speaker.

Just food for thought, what if Trump, Jordan and the 8, worked in unison to overthrow McCarthy?

It’s possible, and if so, applaudable!!!

Jordan won’t be able to do either but l don’t think he would just take a dive like Kevin did. I don’t see Scalise taking the fight to the rats l just don’t. Jordan might.

I think he would actually step aside if Trump was an actual possibility.

I hope it is, but my choice AFTER Trump is Jordan

Jordan might

Probably worth a shot, can't think of many any better. Besides, McCarthy was horrible, should be easy to do better than he did.

A good first step if he is made Speaker would be to Issue Subpoena’s for Letitia James and the Judge in Trumps Civil Trial and force them to testify to the Judiciary Committee on what the LEGAL Meaning of “Statute of Limitations” means and why they IGNORED it deliberately and had to be rebuked by the Appeals Court.

Then JAIL THEM BOTH FOR CONTEMPT

Abuse of Process is a DISBARMENT Offense, and that is exactly what James did.

I think Jim Jordan would be a good choice too because he’s smart, articulate, and fights for conservative ideas. If he’s honest that right there would be better than mccarthy.

If he takes the speaker’s position would that exclude him from the house investigations of the bidens?

I like him. However, fights back against democrats? I’m not sure anyone watches his committee hearings. The Dems run the meetings.

The biggest issue any Repub Speaker will have is the border.

The problem is that Repub voters (and in fact most voters) want the border secured. While all the Democrats and half the elected REpubs (and their donors) want it open.

The easiest way to square that circle is to fake it. Pretend to secure the border while actually not doing it.

The voters are mostly convinced by TV talking points while the donors and Democrats are happy with the reality of an open border, even if the public perception is different.

A kamikaze strategy to shut the gov’t until the border is secure won’t work because too many elites want the border to remain open.

I am encouraged there is some movement to work towards uniting behind someone. Like herding cats but it’s a start.

Whoever is Speaker will still have to deal with limitations based on the makeup of the membership. We have to increase the number of Republicans in the House and Senate in 2024.

“However, fights back against democrats?”

Thank you for asking that question. I’ve only seen him do that once, and not too strongly. Otherwise, he’s Mr. Wobbly. Big talker, though, and he seems to have snookered many.

About time, I have been suggesting that he would be good for the last three days, much to the chagrin of several; FR e-GOP hand wringers.

I think Jim Jordan will do just fine (I did not say perfect, GOP SOTH is a major league difficult job, many objectives, too many to please everyone.)

Jordan voted against removal of McCarthy and spoke to keep him.

These are precarious times for a SOTH with a razor thin majority of diverse members, (including Mad Matt Gaetz who really should get that brain scan and drug test.)
