The camera-loving Republican from Florida who threatened to shut down the government and who masterminded the ousting of Speaker Kevin McCarthy on Tuesday has made more than a few enemies in Congress.
He doesn’t care; he represents a district in Florida that hasn’t gone Democrat in decades and that went for former President Trump in 2020 by 68% to 29%. That means that in 2018, for instance, election gurus gave him 99% odds of being reelected, even though his approval rating was a dismal 20% -- worse than Joe Biden.

Save your sympathy for the “centrists” who are going to have to defend why they went along with McCarthy working as a Demoncrat enabler and making backroom deals that stripped power from the Republican caucus. That is what their constituents are going to want to know. If they don’t have decent answers they will be primaried from the right.

These people are so used to breaking their word and commencing with no consequences. I was still waiting for the J6 Capitol videos he promised and never delivered. It would have been so easy to do so. Shows you how he was answering to a different drummer than the voters.
That woman with the office in the Capitol bldg who just got kicked out it was still running things. That is why she still had that office.
McCarthy entered into an agreement with the GOP caucus which included a vacate the chair provision if McCarthy did not fulfill his end of the agreement. McCarthy chose not to.
How is Gaetz a "loose cannon"??
Then they promised no more omnibus bills and they would get spending bills done on time. How has that worked out so far?

I think $33 Trillion in debt is chaos.
I think not passing single-subject spending bills is chaos.
I think being governed by continuing resolutions and omnibus bills is chaos.
Chaos is somebody we cannot trust with their word.
That’s why I’ve moved to vacate the chair.

Your criticism should be re-directed. To McCarthy. It was more important that he kept reminding himself this could happen, that he must have a plan to lead, not lose his position and keep the GOP together. He failed the party by not having the plan that you assign responsibility to Gaetz.
But if Gaetz had a plan, then I would predict you and many others would put forth another straw man proposition - how bad, unrealistic, unworkable the Gaetz plan would be. McCarthy has only himself to blame for his poor leadership at a critical time.
If Gowdy hates this, and Newt hates this, and the GOPe hates this, I am 100% on board.
If the house can’t figure out a way to shut down this border thru the power of the purse, then they are worthless imho.
And that’s just table stakes.

McCarthy's allegiance was to the Uniparty --- and he never believed anyone could or would stop him.
