Matt Gaetz burns down the Republican House

If you’re kicking yourself for missing the historic moment of a House speaker’s ouster Tuesday because you had to work or get your kids from school, relax: We watched, and all it boiled down to was hot air — sound and fury, signifying nothing except cynical nihilism and likely weeks of chaotic paralysis.

Oh, Rep. Matt Gaetz and his fellow rebels talked plenty about high principle and the crisis of the Republic, but all they were really doing was burning down the House, or at least the House Republican majority.

Professed conservative hardliner Gaetz got the chaos he wanted, ironically thanks to the unanimous support of House Democrats, who joined the tiny GOP Suicide Squad...

Dems, of course, are reveling in the dysfunctional circus — and will presumably try to spin it out for as long as possible...

No one knows what comes next: The rebels have no candidate for speaker, let alone a plan for keeping the party’s most moderate members from turning to the Democrats in desperation for a return to regular order.

Gaetz and his allies didn’t take a bold stand for anything but self-indulgent nihilism — they were mad at how things have been going, so they blew everything up.

The reality remains that the Dems control the White House and the Senate, so the Republicans in Congress are unable to get much done, let alone realize the demands knocking about in Gaetz’s wildest dreams.

This arson no doubt feels good, like you’ve at last done something — just like punching a wall.

Then your hand starts to hurt and you realize that that’s all you’ve achieved...

Also up in the air: What Republican would even want the speaker’s job, so long as it means being held hostage by Gaetz and his crew?

I don’t see how any American conservative could fall for the Ukrainian gambit. It’s an effeminate position, siding with globalist perverts who attack God, family and country.

“Sure, it’s why ALL 208 Democrats voted against McCarthy with Gaetz and his other 7 Republicans. Makes sense”

200 Republicans voted to continue Business as usual in DC.

Stop the CR’s and Pork Filled Omnibus Bills.
Get Back To Regular Order.

To be fair to McCarthy, nobody here on FR seems to have mentioned the biggest problem the slim GOP majority faces.

The “far right” Republicans who voted to oust McCarthy are outnumbered in the House by the 18 Republicans who represent districts that Biden won in 2020.

This tells me that anyone in that House Speaker post is in a no-win situation.

Makes me think of that old adage i believe Rush Limbaugh said it first, “when dems are in power, they get everything they want, when repubs are in power, the dems get everything they want”. Time for repubs to grow a spine.

If the NY Post hates it, it must be good.

What about if every House Democrat votes for it - must be good, right?

Maxine Waters, Adam Schiff, Eric Swalwell, AOC, Hakeem Jeffries and their egomaniac buddy Matt Gaetz.

Gaetz sent the motion across without a plan

I keep hearing this. How do we know there is no plan? Just because they haven’t let us in on it?

To me, the smart move would be to keep the next Speaker card close to my vest. If they announced anyone before McCarthy was out, that person would be seen as a traitor of sorts and wouldn’t get the needed votes.

By running tor Speaker after McCarthy is out, keeps them clear of the fray and not part of the move to vacate making it more likely to get the votes.

Gaetz and his allies didn’t take a bold stand for anything but self-indulgent nihilism — they were mad at how things have been going, so they blew everything up.

They were pissed because mccarthy never fulfilled his commitments and lied and broke his promises.

We are better off with chaos than a liar as the head of the house.

It will work out and screw the editorial board of any "newspaper".

“Republicans will be portrayed as a dysfunctional bunch that can’t get organized on anything”

Maybe because that’s the truth?

“Wait, don’t you see this is now chaos, anarchy with a side of tyranny?”

Chaos are the never ending CR’s and Pork Filled Omnibus Bills
Chaos are promises made by the Speaker to his own GOP Conference and not keeping his
promises.

It like a used car lot with 210 cars on it. I am not sure which one to buy but I can pick out the ones I don’t want right away.

They do know it was only 8 Republicans. The Democrats helped a lot.

Chaos is going to the store and paying 6,7,8 bucks for pound of ground beef. “Getting a few things at the store” is now always over $100. But keep spending congress....

“McCarthy proposed a temporary spending bill that would have cut spending and secured the border”

No. That is not what he did.

When he became speaker, he promised the conservatives things to get their support. He multiple times did just the opposite.

So. This is not caused by Gaetz, it was caused by McCarthy.

Now, we will see if anyone sane is left in DC. At this point it is a very debatable subject.

Continuing resolutions are death for the nation. The #ComDem’s are very close to destroying the USA.

This #ComDem_Insanity MUST END. The globalist RINO’s will not do the job. They are twins with the ComDems.

Sorry bit Gaetz was great when he was speaking. This is actual action. If they all fought this hard against the Ratpukes the country would be a lot better off. BOO ALL YOU WANT!
