I’ll fight so there’s no timetable or limits on Ukraine spending.

Instead he said he was going to shut down then spending, he was going to bring fiscal responsibility, he was going stop the crazy weaponized agencies. Power of the purse.

McCarthy had bad instincts. If he wanted to remain Speaker, he had to shut down the government to placate the Freedom Caucus. Then make a deal. He survives.
