It’s confirmed. Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), booted as the Speaker of the House of Representatives today, will not run again for his former office. The gavel will be passed onto someone who can obtain 218 votes at some point within the next few days without going multiple rounds with Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and his posse.

The House Passed a Debt Ceiling Limit Bill. The Senate did nothing. Biden did nothing - and went to the Beach. The House bill that was passed was trashed and ignored - and Kevin pushed Joe and Schumer’s plan rewarding them for doing nothing at all.
So what did the fiscal conservatives in the House learn from that?

Oh and also he couldhave stopped thousands of illegals from entering his state but instead he lets them roam around commitiing crimes and just for sh’ts and giggles he ships some illegals to other states to make it seem he’s doing something, when really he’s harming Citizens of other states by doing so. Gaetz did the difficult correct thing.
Mccarthy was held accountable. We need more of it in all states on Fed and state level seat holders.

My question is, what happened to all the budget wrangling amongst Republicans that occurred in the Spring and Summer? FWIW, I believe 3 of the 12 Appropriations bills DID get passed by the House.

With the exception of Rand Paul and a few others in both chambers, “Fiscal conservatives” are a myth. The GOP is just as guilty as the Democrats.
Re: 196 - I believe it also calls into question President Trump’s influence as head of the Republican Party. He exerts a lot of influence but Gaetz and the other Republicans who voted to remove McCarthy ignored Trump’s message about fighting amongst each other.

But there is no point in crafting and passing bills if backroom deals Veto them.
McCarthy’s MO is to meet with Biden and do backroom deals.
