BREAKING: Kevin McCarthy Removed As Speaker

Now-former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was stripped of his gavel on Tuesday afternoon via roll-call vote on Rep. Matt Gaetz's (R-FL) motion to vacate the chair, pursuant to rules agreed to by McCarthy in order to clinch victory in his drawn-out race to become speaker in January.
By a vote of 216 to 210, the historic motion prevailed as presiding Rep. Steve Womack (R-AR) declared "the resolution is adopted...the office of Speaker of the House of the United States House of Representatives is hereby declared vacant."

Gaetz wants to run for Governor in 2026 after DeSantis is done with his 2nd term, I don’t see how this helps him. Byron Donalds also has his eye on that job, and I don't think Gaetz can beat him.

The whole thing is ridiculous. What is your defense when there are no facts to object to?
Alice in Wonderland is the model for the lawfare prosecutions and the “off with their heads” judges. I repeat, any objective person knows the fix was in and nothing Trump or his lawyers could have done would have had any effect. I almost think they manipulated the judge into more flagrant misconduct so that he can be dealt with more easily later.

I said if there was any justice. Obviously, with the most evil people in the world running things there won’t be any of that... our country is being run by a bunch of psychopaths. So there is no justice... but if you wanted to live in a world where there was... Trump would be speaker and we’d impeach the evil bastard who stole the last election and hold all the evil people accountable who were involved or went along with it.
