Now-former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was stripped of his gavel on Tuesday afternoon via roll-call vote on Rep. Matt Gaetz's (R-FL) motion to vacate the chair, pursuant to rules agreed to by McCarthy in order to clinch victory in his drawn-out race to become speaker in January.
By a vote of 216 to 210, the historic motion prevailed as presiding Rep. Steve Womack (R-AR) declared "the resolution is adopted...the office of Speaker of the House of the United States House of Representatives is hereby declared vacant."

I agree. Trump is a good solid leader but not the best and building consensus. He's a doer and a shaker who knows how to get things done but not good at evening parties and schmoozing (kissing ass). A (good) Speaker needs to be good at both.
Yeah, modern Newt is a Bush leaguer. But I think in the 90s Newt was genuinely conservative. Something broke him. Maybe he just wanted to be loved. Maybe it was becoming a professor and having to exist in that particular leftist swamp. Maybe he just wanted to stay relevant and get asked to go on TV so he just turned left. Whatever, I do believe he was genuine back in the day.

I agree. McCarthy's loyalty to US was as shaky as a newborn foal's legs. I never trusted him. Now we have to find someone really good to replace him.

I’m hoping that this development will, finally, draw the American people’s attention to how the clowns and criminals on Capitol Hill have been FUBAR-ing this republic for many decades. If you recommend Tulsi Gabbard who is a pro abortion, gun grabber, then you are not a conservative. ANYONE who does not support the 2nd amendment 100%, is against the constitution. It’s there to protect us from politicians, not for hunting ducks.
Agreed. McCarthy folded when it counted. He betrayed the very reason he was finally voted into the Speaker position after 15 tries. The dems got everything they wanted and we got nothing. The only thing missing was the silver platter.
