Democrats are planning on requesting several concessions of Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy in return for their help if a motion to oust him is brought this week, Politico reported Monday. ...
In order to receive their help to keep his speakership, Democrats will likely demand McCarthy adhere to the spending levels he previously agreed upon with President Joe Biden, as well as ending the impeachment inquiry brought against the president, giving party members more seats on committees — including equal representation on the Rules Committee — and additional aid to Ukraine, according to Politico.
“The only way Kevin McCarthy is Speaker of the House at the end of this coming week is if Democrats bail him out. Now, they probably will. I actually think that when you believe in nothing, as Kevin McCarthy does, everything’s negotiable and I think he’ll cut a deal with the Democrats,” Gaetz told CNN’s Jake Tapper.
Gaetz believes that there will be enough House Republicans to support a motion to vacate the speaker, requiring McCarthy to turn to Democrats to avoid his removal, he said on CNN.
Following Gaetz’ announcement of his desire to oust McCarthy from the leadership role, the speaker told the congressman to “bring it on” during an appearance on “Face the Nation” Sunday.

And THAT is the problem with his side deal with the democrats. Now they own him. As they say in Mexico, “when you climb inside someone’s pocket, you can never climb out”.

The GOP has 222 seats. Obviously 112 is the majority of his own caucus.
There were 95 votes against the CR. 17 more votes, now that it is revealed he intends to get Ukraine funding against the majority of his caucus, are possible.
If he has a minority of his own caucus and gets very loud about worshipping at the altar of GOVERNANCE, sure, he can try to get Dem support to add up to 218, the majority of the House.
The key to the whole thing is making the case that “One does not have to have another name defined before one removes this one.” You can bet that will be a defense . . . WHO ELSE, IF NOT ME?
But that need not be a defense. What we’re about to see is what CONSERVATIVES are focused entirely on government controlling life by commitment to Governance. Primary targets, every one of them.

Yes, there are obviously some folks on here who are not thinking correctly in supporting McCarthy. True colors are showing now. Didn’t know the sexual perversion ran that deep, but apparently it does.
It seems the only question is whether the Dems want to manipulate McCarthy as their marionette, or brush him aside and let Hakeem run the team, with the Old Ones (Pelosi, Hoyer, Jackson-Lee) manipulating Jeffries. I pray I’m wrong.
