Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a 2024 presidential candidate, said on Sunday that he would not serve as President Trump’s vice president if the former president asked him to be his running mate.
“No, I’m running for president,” DeSantis said in an interview on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” when asked whether he would accept a theoretical offer.
DeSantis’s comments come in response to Trump’s recent jab at the other GOP presidential candidates, among whom Trump said he did not see a potential running mate.

Who asked? Who dreamed such an idea. I also announce I will not serve as VP if asked. Why should such a non-story be a story?
Almost anyone mentioned as running to be the President would do a competent job of vp except DeSantis and Assa and probably Tim Scott. Tim clearly belongs in the legislative branch. Some would be better as talking heads on TV than in elective office. DeSantis belongs in corporate America when he runs out his gig in FL.

He was the most consequential Republican governor in decades, and he won reelection in Florida in 2022 with a near record percentage for a GOP state wide candidate.
