Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., said Sunday that he intends to file a motion to oust House Speaker Kevin McCarthy this week after Congress voted to avert a shutdown hours before the deadline.
"I do intend to file a motion to vacate against Speaker McCarthy this week," Gaetz said in an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “I think we need to rip off the band aid. I think we need to move on with new leadership that can be trustworthy."
Gaetz also confirmed that he'll soon file a motion to vacate the speakership in an appearance on ABC News' "This Week," after the Senate and House on Saturday night voted to pass a short-term bill to keep the government funded through Nov. 17.
In response to Gaetz' announcement, McCarthy said, “That’s nothing new ... He’s tried to do that from the moment I ran for office ... Yes, I’ll survive. You know, this is personal with Matt.”

But he won’t have the votes, so instead it will not be a victory for anyone except those Democrats who want a weaker GOP House speaker.
Democrats have a hive mind, in constant lockstep, and no matter what they may say, not one of them will vote to keep McCarthy without something significant in return. We may never know what that is, but watching the chaos on the right is in their favor, as is. Don’t ever interrupt your enemy when they’re in the middle of destroying themselves.
He needed a primary challenger whose message is no to Mcarthy as speaker. Might not win on that but a statement needed to be made 15-18 months ago. That makes us a year+ behind schedule. Now it sets us up as the extremists.
Then, when a deal finally gets done that achieves even modest cuts, the people who fought it the most start taking credit for reducing the deficit or making government work for the people.

Write your reps snd tell them to support the removal of mccarthy. He betrayed his word. And using democrats to do makes him just another democrat.

None with the connections, experience and guile, however, to beat Kevin. I’m hoping I’m wrong, but this sounds like a Quixotic pipe dream.
McCarthy has broken his promises, he’s got to go. He has no fight.
The motion will fail by a large margin.
The same McCarthy backers here have repeatedly reminded us that Trump
backs McCarthy. The same ones who Trash Trump for backing McCarthy.

Your posts on this thread make a lot of sense, but I think the above statement would be more meaningful if you had said "his office" has the ability.
You seem to recognize that here ...McCarthy he is not cleaning up the budget process or getting congress back to clean spending bills.
Don’t bother to look at what he has actually done since becoming speaker, because his demeanor is the only thing that matters.
You are beyond saving at this point.
I’m quite certain you’ve not listened to a single word Matt has spoken about any issue at all.
When you have absolutely nothing of value to contribute to a discussion, you attack the messenger. A fool’s folly.
