Former National Security Adviser John Bolton, who served in the Trump Administration, said on Tuesday that he fears a second Trump term would bring “constitutional crisis” but that he still has faith in the strength and integrity of the country’s institutions.
“I think it’s almost certain that the top level of the second Trump term will be the bottom level on January 20, 2021. And then it will go downhill from there. But the consequence doesn’t mean that the government will then be under his control,” he said in an interview on CNN’s “The Lead” with Jake Tapper.
“One of the greatest dangers that a second Trump term brings would be constitutional crisis: Who is he going to nominate to be attorney general and [what happens] when the Attorney General gives an order from Trump” to career people at the Department of Justice and “they say no, and they resign, and the entire Department of Justice begins to resign? What happens when he gives illegal orders to the career military, and they start to resign?”

Back in Andrew Jackson’s time, it was normal for there to be major turnover. We should go back to that. The Deep State’s corruption depends on stability, on the guy you did a favor for still being there to return the favor when you need it.

As a matter of fact, I get the sense that the RINO wing want this to happen and are quietly cheering under their breath.

Bolton used to make sense. Then he went Trump Derangement Syndrome, and he’s been useless ever since. In my book, he can even be pro-war, if he’s rational about it and makes a case, but TDS makes even those observations seem absurd as we realize they appear to want war only because Trump doesn’t.
