We have high crime rates because a significant portion of the country tolerates it. Crime can be controlled. It’s a decision.

One way or the other it will eventually be controlled. Most folks don’t realize that the cops aren’t really here to protect us from evil people. They’re here to protect the evil people from us.
Once normal folks come to that realization and see that they’re on their own, well, they will be on their own. The bad guys aren’t going to like that, not one little bit.
