Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg slammed former President Trump’s reported comments to Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley about a wounded veteran, saying they were just the latest “in a pattern of outrageous attacks” on those who serve the country.
CNN’s Dana Bash asked Buttigieg on “State of the Union” on Sunday what his response was to an interview Milley gave to The Atlantic in which he described an instance when Trump complained to him about a wounded Army veteran. Milley said Trump asked him, “Why do you bring people like that here? No one wants to see that, the wounded,” and told him to not allow that wounded veteran to appear in public again.

It is a black mark on the left that they can’t see the difference between Gen. Kelly and Gen. Milley. Gen. Kelly ranks very highly in my book. Not only as a competent soldier and combat leader, rising up from the enlisted ranks, but also as a thoughtful and honest person. Plus, he looked great in his Marine uniform. Gen. Milley has had a distinguished career, but comes across as a desk jockey. And, all the medals and badges he wears make him look phony.
Bone spurs are very painful.
Based on what? The words of Milley??
My personal feeling is- it is one thing to not like Trump, but if you are pointing out his problems, don't throw fecal material produced by completely corrupt lefties. It will just end up making you look bad.
You have apparently been reading those “unnamed,” “off-the-record” sources CNN, NBC, and ABC used constantly during the four years Trump was in office, to spread unprovable lies. Those are “unnamed” sources for a reason, because they are democrat operatives. If a journalist uses such sources, without the “source” being in fear of his/her life, or afraid of losing their job, the “journalist” is a co-conspirator, and there are lots of them. Remember the one about Trump not going to soldiers’ graves in Normandy because he was afraid he would get his hair wet? Or the one where he jumped from the back seat to the front seat to grab the steering wheel from a Secret Service member? In all those false stories the people who were actually there said it didn’t happen.
hcmama has spoken. She is always right, just ask her.
Mark Milley is a full time ass kisser hoping to land a D.C. witt the help of the democrat party.
He’s a disgrace to the uniform and country it’s what’s makes him fit for that party.
Mine as well. He was a genuinely good man who believed in Trump's agenda but refused to kiss his ass and tell him how infallible he was.
And Donnie just could not abide that
Thank you for that kind acknowledgment.
Does he even show up for work?
NOT what I said at all. You're just using your hate for Trump to overload your mouth. As for McCain, regardless of his dubious military career, the most hated thing about him was his rancid, anti-American political life.
Not to mention asthma when you’re playing at lifeguard at the local pool with the kiddies (roaches, IIRC) or playing football in college or something....
Traitor Milley is also a liar.
McCain’s “dubious military career.” Always a Trumper. Are you actually saying McCain faked his being shot down over North Vietnam and his torture in a POW camp? Or, are you saying that he and naval aviators in general are supposed to be choir boys?
If you judge naval aviators harshly, how do you judge Trump who, as a mature adult, cavorted with hookers and then paid them off?
Yes, you do judge Trump and his adult sons differently from how you judge veterans. But, on the possibility I’m wrong, please explain why you accept that Trump was 4F and neither of his adult sons served in the military, and call many veterans names?
As for hating Trump, Trump is who he is. You take the good with the bad (except you don’t think he has any bad, and he himself said he never did anything bad in his life). After Trump emerged as the presumptive Republican nominee in 2016, I supported him because I’m a Republican. Ditto from the start in 2020. Trump doesn’t say he will support the nominee of the Republican Party in 2024, and right as of now, I say the same thing. You appear to have different rules for Trump and other people, so maybe you don’t think I’m allowed to have Trump’s position.
Trump once said if I wanted to be presidential, he would be the most presidential of anybody. But, clearly, he didn’t want to be presidential. He wanted to be Trump. He wasn’t interested in shoring up his image with voters not already part of his following. This is why I say he grew tired of winning. He grew tired of winning and so lost the Congress in 2018, and the White House and Senate in 2020.
Now, I’ll change gears a bit. It could be that Trump’s ability to deal with everything that comes with Presidential politics, is connecting with his base. You could see this energy at his rallies. He and the crowd invigorated each other. His rallies were lovefests. This connecting with his base might also apply to Trump’s tweets (back in the day he was on tweeter). Trump had and continues to have tremendous resilience in large part, I believe, because of his followers. We saw George W. Bush and Barack Obama both age right before our eyes while serving as President. Do you notice any such aging with Trump, because I don’t.
Trump is an amazing fellow and maybe nobody can see him for the complex person he is. There will be many more books written about him in the future than about other presidents.
Ho lee geezzzzzz.....!!!!!!!!!!!!
GD freak, I feel bad for that kid
Is that real?
“but because he has an old man’s obliviousness to other people.”
What are you talking about? Trump likes people. Haven’t you seen him out with a crowd? He likes to kibitz and schmooze with the people. He wants people to like him. That’s harmed him sometimes.
Why do you lie?
Dems lie about everything. Literally everything.
Thus...
