The use of heavy weapons supplied by the West in the fierce battle raging on the outskirts of Bakhmut, which was captured by Russia in May, is inflicting a significant toll on enemy lines, Ukrainian commanders have told Reuters.
Buoyed after the capture last week of the key village of Klishchiivka, Ukrainian troops have lauded the 155 millimetre howitzers as key equipment being provided by the United States and its NATO allies.
Unit commander Oleksandr said Ukraine's armed forces "very much rely" on heavy artillery, including the Polish-made Krab gun and the U.S.-made M109 self-propelled howitzer.
"Even one gun can completely turn the situation around. An attack can be stopped with one such gun," he said.
"The main thing is to aim where needed. They (the Russians) hate our hardware. That's what we gather from our intercepts. We hear that we keep giving them hell and they keep wondering how much ammunition we have left."

I don’t know if this report is true or not, I do find it interesting that Zelensky comes to the UN and then Washington begging for more money when it looks like the mood in Congress is turning against him and all of a sudden, the Ukrainians have broken thru Russian defenses and are shelling the hell out of them with heavy artillery, maybe the timing is mere coincidence.
This is beginning to sound like those fake wars in “1984”

With as many propaganda articles of Ukraine as you post, I assumed they’d have conquered Russia and Belarus by now and would be at the Chinese border ready to take on the Red Army.
Instead, they are struggling to retake shelled cities in their own country.

I have to refute this article. Military savants told me right here and with great authority that Russian artillery totally outnumbers Ukraine and in fact every single battle is a one sided Russian meatgrinder which annihilated the entire Ukrainian army about a year ago.
Also our shell production ran dry a year ago.
Also the Ukrainian advances are all by Russian design and a clever trap.
In fact this war is just a repeat of the first part of WW1 and everyone is frozen in their trenches.
I know it’s just like WW1 because I was watching countless 4k drone videos and the drones were right over Russian troops dropping orange grenades on them, just like in WW1. Ukrainians are probably using refurbished drones from WW1.
It certainly would include the cluster munitions, yes.
I think it’s pretty likely the Ukraine generals were told to push through with maximum effort because of some sentiment turning against the war. That has been pretty common in the history of warfare.
From what I read, Russia has put its paratroopers on the defensive line in an effort to slow the advance until the rainy season arrives.
The paratroopers are considered elite troops but they may be the last of Russia’s capable reserves.
That’s not to say Russia won’t mobilize more green troops. And perhaps the Russian lines will hold. We’ll see.
The Ukies are spent, running on donated ammo. Just look at the tons of videos, what do you see? Thousands of Russian shell craters , thousands of craters, around every Ukie defensive and offensive lines and positions. Looks like a moonscape.
It is a well known fact Vlad has a 7 to 1 artillery advantage. The amount of Ukie amputees ( typically from artillery) is appalling.
