Yeah, well, doesn’t quite work that way unfortunately (or, fortunately in some cases). It’s binding to the western states under the 9th Circuit. If there is another federal court that has a different, contradictory ruling then the USSC will have to settle the differences.
Assuming of course it isn’t overturned on appeal. Which I said upthread it likely - but maybe it isn’t so likely. The lawyers and state AGs may not want to create a conflict that the USSC has to take up for exactly that reason - they don’t want this ruling to be upheld across the entire country.
